32psi and knocking?

I was out checking injector duty cycle running 32 psi boost with everything going ok until I got home. The motor was rattling like a piston rod knock. I checked compression on all rotor lobes and all OK.
The oil pressure is perfect to with nothing showing abnormal on dipstick.
I havenyt torn down yet but wondered if anybody has any ideas on what the knock could be, its l;oud to. The car starts and runs fine.

Ralph,
Does it sound like a helicopter and is it coming from the rear rotor? If so, it may be similar to the issue I had on my 13bt. I also had a bent input shaft on my tranny that needed to be rebuilt. Cross your fingers and hope its nothing serious! I would ask Rob about it, he's suppose to open my old motor up and see what the issue was with mine.

my motor did the same thing! Took it apart and the front bearing was TOAST. I changed the oil and nothing inside, but as soon as I removed the oil pan...WOW...fairy dust everywhere. When I took off the front cover, there were metal shavings EVERYWHERE. I had a bent e-shaft...

I was thinking about this last night and this morning. (Takes awhile for the ol' gears to start turning sometimes. ) I've only seen it a couple times, but every once in awhile a tention bolt backs out, and starts hitting the flywheel, causing quite a bit of racket. Jim or jspec could be right though....I was just thinking of what else could have happend. CJ

Im running a T72Qtrim with 4" exhaust. Thanks for the imput everybody
I'm going to yank it out and make it more reliable if possible. I think its bearings because I run it at 9000RPM also but I never had any trouble in the last year until I put on 4"exhaust and it went from max 1.9bar to
2.2bar. The performance difference was incredible so was the load on the motor, Hi CJ Ralph

That's some serious air flow you've got there dude. If it was detonation then i doubt if you would left with any unbrocken seal.

Can you post some numbers with that turbo? A dyno graph would help as well

Blue TII ill give them a call and check them out, Good info! Thats the kind of parts I am looking for. The only dyno graph I have is 560 RWHP
@24 Psi and 3" exhaust, thats the max I got without slipping on 315 30 Pzeros. The rest was tuned with a wideband and datalogging on the street, buthe extra boost and 4" exhaust is making it real hard.
So here come the slicks when new motor done. Thesr RX7s rock.

Nice kits. Thx for the info. I ordered a GT42 74mm ball bearing turbo
a couple weeks ago for my friends car and am going to test it out before I change my setup. His car is almost a carbon copy so he gets to be the ginny pig. Ralph

Ralph knows how to tune the big turbos! No sense having a big T-72 and not push it. I am amazed that You can have enough fuel for 30 PSI with 850/1600 injectors to run that high of boost though.

Couple of questions: What AFR do You run at that high of boost? What fuel pump are You using to feed that monster?

I ran out of fuel at 24 PSI with My T-72 and was @ 98% injector duty?
