I did hit 150 during the NASA event a couple years ago...in my nicely modded FD with 360 rwhp in cool weather helps...redline 4th and shifted into 5th before turn 9. The PDX still would/will be a great chance to work on driving the line and heal-toeing practice.

Alright, I'm registered for the PDX too. Just so y'all know, they don't process your check until after the event, and they will destroy the check if you don't run. If y'all want to run, DO IT!!

I only recognize 3 names on the PDX list, so I'm wondering how many folks have embarassing real names. So what is it, Reginald Denise actually goes by Dave? Stu, are you on there? Just curious.

Personally, I'm not worried with hitting 150. Joke's on you, people whose cars can get out of their own way! 100 is my absolute max - right at the top of 4th, bottom of 5th, nothing to be gained. Totally done at 100, at least in time to brake for 10A. On a related note, I'll be doing smoky 180 oversteer demonstrations again this year in 10A, so y'all keep your cameras handy.

correct. And if you wanted to you can borrow my helmet for either event if I am not using it at the same time It's a new helmet and I only have worn it for 2 events last year. Still has that new helmet smell. And I don't have lice

Just a reminder that registration for Zoom-Fest will close Sunday morning.

This is to ensure we have everyone accounted for and to give time to print the shirts.

You must pre-register for the event.

Visit www.mazdameets.com to sign up.

Are there any more PDX spots available? I don't see it as an option on the registration screen.

^^ There should be plenty. As of today there are only 9 entrants for the A class( Novice) and 12 for B class( signed off) and like 15 I think for C ( Advanced) I don't know where you fall in but most are A or B. I don't recall what the cut-off is for each class but I would almost say 100% they run more than 12 in each class. You can call the Atlanra SCCA region and ask if all else fails.

I would probably be in A class since I don't have any laps at Road Atlanta...but I do have PDX experience. I'll have to do some investigating...

PDX registration is done through the SCCA website not the Zoom-Fest website.
Make sure you are trying to sign up here (around middle of the page) -> http://www.atlantascca.org/

So let me get this straight... If I (and my wife) are to go to this event, not even bring my Rx7 (no way I'd trust it to drive to atlanta) and all we want to do is watch Mazdas race and see the badass cars, it's going to cost 60 bucks plus 5 for parking???

Iff all you want to do is watch races then I guess just pay the SCCA event fee. Unless it is a restricted event . But that won't let you into ZF Also it is 30 for the first person to attend ZF and 25 for their guest. 5 for parking. There is alot to do for the event. And much like everything in this world you have to pay to play There is a swap meet, movies, car show, and more that is just for the ZF attendies. Long story short..$55 instead of 60 How far away are you from RA, I drive my 500 dlloar FB down there quit often. It loves the drive. Have faith in your rotors.

I also carry a AAA card that I have faith in as well Get to the event, you know you want to. Although you may have to contact Bwaits directly as registration for the event ended last Sunday

No faith in these rotors, with a leaking water pump, stock injectors at 13psi, bad twin scroll actuator (not really an issue, but still not a good thing), bad clutch, bad front u-joint, overheats on the highway due to FMIC (need bigger radiator)...

the Cx-7 is more reliable right now.

Sounds like that 7 should have been up on blocks a long time ago for some over due much needed repairs!
Pony up and come have a good time. I will be in a chevy truck and coming from much further that you! It is all about hanging out, talking rotaries and enjoying the group.

well....

It's my vert that just got a TII swap, so it's been on blocks for a long time. It just started not too long ago, and I'm finding these problems as I go. You know, the waterpump, driveshaft, clutch, etc, these things could have been replaced before installing the drivetrain, had I known they were bad, or just had the money lying around to upgrade all this stuff.

I'm still going, but not with that car. At least it's not my newest Rx7
