Zoom-Fest '09 Date Has Been Set!
We are proud to announce the second annual event date has been set. Due to the success of last years event and the maturity shown by our guest, MazdaMeets.com was able to work out an ANNUAL deal with Road Atlanta and the SCCA.
Mazdameets.com will be hosting Zoom-Fest '09 on July 18-19th at the infamous Road Atlanta course, which offers a gorgeous 2.5 mile track, 750 acres, and close proximity to all needed amenities. This again will be a 2 day festival type event for all Mazda and Mazda powered vehicles. We strive to deliver a safe and enjoyable weekend where you can meet new people, hang out with some old faces and take your car to the limit!
Over the next few months the organizers will be finalizing all the details. We will keep you up to date as more information becomes available. The things we do know at this time will help you plan for the weekend.
* Guest can show up as early as Friday Morning!
* Camping will be allowed, and encouraged!
* All ages are welcomed!
* There will be numerous opportunities to drive the race track, including a PDX (3 - 20 minute sessions with a driving instructor - At Speed!)
* Swap Meet - No charge to sell your extra parts!
* Saturday night outdoor movie!
* Much, much more to be announced!
We hope to see you there. Please keep an eye out for updates posted at MazdaMeets.com.

By the way, guys, the SCCA runs PDX at several of their events. They're used to having enough interest to cover their standard turnout, so we'd be well-advised to sign up as soon as PDX registration opens. Otherwise, the regulars will get the slots.
We can seriously blow up the PDX, but everyone needs to decide for themselves early on whether or not they'll go, and register quick when it opens.
That said, it'll be a hell of a lot of fun.

This year will be setup a little different in order to make it easier for us as well as the SCCA.
Cost has not been established yet. We have many months of planning left for the event. This announcement was so that everyone can plan well in advance, since time off and money will be tighter this year for everyone.
Attendee cost will be a main concern for us while we plan.

I'm curious what the PDX count looks like now. Any idea how many of your Miatas are looking to run the PDX?
If you could ask them to go to MazdaMeets.com or Miata.net to check in, that would be fabulous.
Edit - I set up a poll on Mazdameets so people can check in and hopefully post a little about what they're driving. Anyone who's planning to go is well-advised to have a look.
