Thanks Phil, I really appreciate it man. I can not do it without you, your a good friend! This 7 would probably rust man, if I had to do this thing on my own.
Quick questions guys, what are the tech rules at the Steele Dragstrip? Standard NHRA rules? I ask because I haven't run at a track with real tech inspections in over 3 years. At Huntsville Dragway, their idea of tech inspection is fill out a card and give it to the chick in the tower. I ask because I would hate to go all the way down to find out I needed something simple to run. Thanks in advance.

That is good to hear on tech. I think I should have a spare driveshaft loop in my garage so I might put that on to be safe. NHRA requires a loop for 13.99 and faster, so I would need it for NHRA sanctioned tracks. I also plan on bringing my helmet.
The repaved it last year I think. It is alot better than it use to be, but still not totally level.
Steele is not NHRA santioned as far as I know. There are plenty of cars that go up there that run 12s that have no problems, I think once you get below 12s you need a helment, not sure what that is in the 1/8th. But I honestly have no idea on their rules.
I've also never seen anyone be tech'd at Steele either.

I must be missing something. What is the confusion all about?
The reason I asked is because when I used to run at Moroso in Florida, they required a driveshaft loop and helmet for 13.99 or faster. They tech inspected every single car that went on the track and required everything to be kosher.

if your drive shaft brakes it is there to keep it from slinging it all over the place...i think
so just like the 3rd gen has the scatter shield that runs from the diff to the trans to shield if the drive shaft explodes.

Yeah basically what bryant said. It is a loop, usually steel, that you place under the driveshaft(preferably near the front) and mount to floor of the car. It is there so if you break a u-joint, the driveshaft doesn't fall and jam into the ground, causing your car to flip.
Well I have no helmet, no d-loop. Just a car. I will come either way but if I am going to get the boot I would rather know up front. Car should go low 11's maybe dip into the 10's ???
Looks like it was that hose. It held coolant to, from, and at the autoX(~1.5hrs of driving). And I re checked it yesterday after it sat over night and it is still full. Friday I had to refill it when I got to work(~35-40min) so it was blowing it out pretty quick.

... if not my FD , I'll be in Birmingham anyway , so I'll drive the Tahoe ... looks like fun !!
