Hey Guys.

No bickering! hehe Anyway, Steve came here for personal reasons. I asked him if he'd tune my 1st gen car. Anyway at the time my car was blown up I took the motor out this past friday at 10 am, patched it and put it back together and running by 8 pm that night. Saturday I drove it 2 or 3 miles and then on sunday Steve and I drove it to the dyno which was 12 miles. Nice long break in period!

Car made 440 RWHP at 20 psi. 2200 pound first gen runs like a raped ape .

Steve is here on vacation and it is up to him to tune your car.... It was a last second thing and just went with it.

You guys know I have to show up and represent a little. I dont know how much I will be able to do because I will be helping as needed with everything. I would like to make some passes at the drag strip though.

 

A friends 2nd gen. (It's basically an exact copy of mine, except for the '04 GTO drivetrain, and it's not red.) I'll drive it during the instructor runs.

My wife's FD will come if I can get it back together in time. It's getting a LOT of work though. My FC is under the knife, and will for sure not make it.

 

Are we looking at mostly FD's at Steele so far?

If you have ZERO time driving at this track, I'm your man. I seem to have a way with getting the point across to newbies. If you already know the line somewhat, and want to go faster, I can introduce you to an instructor that you will have a great time with. He's got thousands of hours there. If you do want me to ride with you, I can split my time between you and another person who already expects me to help him.

 

Last time I was on the track was back in 2001... in Indiana.

Since then I never had a chance to do it. So, I'll say I'm a newb! 1/2 and 1/2 would be great!

 

I know crispeed was going to try to make it but I am not sure. Im sure there will be a good turnout of 1st and 2nd gens at the strip.

That's good to hear. My car will give a stock FD a good run, but modded FDs, forgetaboutit. I don't want to be the slowest car at the event.

 

Im not sure he is coming or not. I know he was definately interested and said he would try. It would be neat to see his car no doubt.

We definitely want each instructor to ride with at least 2 different people, so drivers get a broader range of knowledge and opinions!
