Supra/Z/RX7 event! Oct19: Road course. Oct20: 1/4 dragstrip w/ mobile dyno & car show

This is just a quick post to give everyone a 'heads-up' about a new bi-yearly (spring and fall) Supra / RX7 / 300ZX / Skyline event called the 'SpeedForSale.com Shootout' hosted by www.SpeedForSale.com with over [lime]$1300]/lime] in cash prizes...if you want to register for any of the events NOW you can call 770-777-4774 or email me (blackwell@speedforsale.com) as everything is set in stone!!

Friday, Oct. 19, 7:30am - 5:00pm CENTRAL time: We have rented the road course 'Little Talladega' (www.TGPrace.com) with everyone getting a FREE experienced instructor to ride along with them all day for only $125/car for Supra, RX7, 300ZX, and Skylines, and $150/car for all other models...THERE ARE ONLY 40 SPOTS AVAILABLE! When you register, BE SURE to include your full name, cell phone number, email, car year / make / model, how many times you've ran the new TGPR track, and how many total road course events you've ran.

TO REGISTER a Supra, RX7, 300ZX, or Skyline, call 770-777-4774 to pay $129.05 with credit/debit card, or mail in $125 payment; or paypal $129.05 to sales@speedforsale.com

TO REGISTER any other car model, call 770-777-4774 to pay $155.00 with credit/debit card, or mail in $150 payment; or paypal $155.00 to sales@speedforsale.com

The event waiver and tech inspection sheet will be emailed to you. Our last road course event booked up all 40 spots FIVE WEEKS before the event, so register now if you want to enter! Also, with the insurance we purchased we do have authorization from Talladega to go ahead and 'officially' time laps for the top run group(s) if we choose to do so. So, we may go ahead and give a cash prize to the fastest lap of the day as well. If we do so, it will be toward the end of the day when there is ALWAYS 'free time'. This is the time when 90% of the entrants are done beating on their cars and stop, and you have one small run group that runs at will. We'll then choose the top 3 Supra/RX7/Skyline/300ZX that we've noticed are running the fastest and have them all do an individual 3 lap session (warm up and 2x timed laps) and the fastest solo timed lap wins. This will only take about 25-30 minutes or so, and it won't dig into anyone's track time!
You can view more discussion in the 'Road Racing' section here:
http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=445464

Saturday, Oct. 20, 9:30am - 2:30pm CENTRAL time: The test-n-tune drag races, mobile dyno, and car show events will be held at Steele 1/4 mile drag strip (www.AlabamaInternationalDragway.com.) The drag strip admission is $15/person and anyone can race for FREE, with a mobile dyno ($50/car) and car show (FREE) in the parking area! Also, there will be a $50 raffle ticket for every Supra, RX7, 300ZX, & Skyline in attendance (even if you don't participate!)

We will offer CASH prizes ($200 1st place, $100 2nd place, $50 3rd place) for the best Supra/RX7/300ZX/Skyline's in these areas:
- quickest 1/4 mile time
- fastest 1/4 mile MPH
- Top 3 highest horsepower cars on the dyno
- Top 3 cleanest / best put together cars in the car show
- $50 raffle ticket given to EVERY Supra, RX7, 300ZX, & Skyline that comes through the gate at the dragstrip, even if you don't participate!

The hotel is a NICE NEW Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ($84/night) that is just off the interstate 1.5 hour west of downtown Atlanta in Pell City, Alabama, and only 25-30 minutes away from both the dragstrip and road course. This will be a very easy drive for everyone to the hotel and all events! We have the hotel spots arriving Thursday, October 18, and checking out Sunday, October 21.
Here are pictures of the hotel and info:
http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/...ilsearch&ias=y
To reserve your room, call 205-884-0047 and tell them you are with the 'Speed For Sale.com event' in October.
YOU MUST RESERVE YOUR ROOM BEFORE OCTOBER 3 TO GET THE $84/NIGHT DISCOUNT, OTHERWISE IT'S $109/NIGHT!

We will also allow ANY car model to run at the drag strip and dyno as time permits. Regardless of what car you bring, EVERYONE and ANYONE is welcome to attend to watch the events and hang out! See you there!

Phil please mentioned it to your local crew of fd owners. I know some of them expressed interest in the road coarse and everyone can take advantage of the car show part of the weekend. I would pm the people from this weekend's tuning session but I honestly met so many new people from the forums I have forgot most of the user names.

For those interested in the road coarse, you will have a professional driver/instructor with you all day if you wish. Our past events participants in the road coarse have gotten way more seat time than they wanted. Most feel bad for beating on their car so much.

Hopefully my personal fd will be able to give some of the supras a good run on the dragstrip.

So what are you hoping to run? I would think if some of the local Supra guys from here go, whatch out! gary white has a VERY fast one! Pretty sure he runs in the 9's! He also drives/races the Titian Supra from time to time.....

In a perfect world I would like high 10s on pump gas. I dont doubt the car will be able to do it, more worried about the driver.

I have pmed some of the big hp rx7 owners on this site hoping some will show up. There are some low 10 sec high 9 sec rx7s running around and hopefully some will show at the event.

Can you let me know within the next week if you want to do the road coarse? I will gladly pay for your spot like I mentioned before if you email all the DGRR attendees.

We appreciate everyone spreading the word and hopefully turning this into a great event with a variety of top notch cars.

Ill let you know if we need an instructor.

On another note we will need help working the coarse on Friday. Working the flags basically on different parts of the track. Any one working the track that day will have all the food from concessions they want paid for by us. We would really appreciate the help.

Hopefully this event will grow beyond our imaginations and the payouts will get larger as the event grows.
