Not only are we taking potshots at me (I'll deal with catching up on the rest of replies to the thread tomorrow), but now at my alma mater, UNC Chapel Hill?

Ahem...
UNC-CH class of 2000
B.S. in Biology
B.S. in Computer Science

Employed by UNC 2003-present because it's a 2 minute walk to class as I am working on a M.S. degree at UNC.

So now we know why I rub everyone here the wrong way! You cringe at the Carolina blue that bleeds all over you.

I hesitate to imagine the flack I would catch if I told you I was a Duke grad!

I don't ever recall having badmouthed NC State. A lot of my good friends from high school went there. If I had known I was going to enter into the computer field earlier on in my career I probably would have gone to NC State. Alas, I am trying to EXIT the computer field, so not being a pigeonholed computer engineer is working in my favor....

I'll just let it slide, being that I am outnumbered by NC State grads.

This explains alot, I'll have more sympathy for you now that I understand what has generated this need to over-acheive, you must overcome your education!
I totally sympathize with your plight. I grew up in Chapel Hill, both parents worked at UNC and I am married, for 34 years to a UNC grad. I went to Carolina for 2 years and was so desperate to get out I volunteered for the army and went to the RVN. When I got out I had learned my lesson and was fortunate enough to be accepted to NC State and thank God everyday that I was able to turn my life around.

Its not too late for you, I know, I've been there!

I appreciate the responses on this and Taylor's sparkplug discussion. It always helps to have your input. See, I'm trying to be sympathetic now that I understand your handicap. With all this talk about sparkplugs and since it has been a year since my rebuild I went out last night and checked my plugs. They were a little ragged, so what do you recommend for an FC GTU?

man this UNC vs. State thing has cracked me up this morning. Thanks guys I needed a laugh.

For you guys still going to NCSU, I am looking at a black Integra GSR owned by a State student named Joe; it's lowered, wheels, exhaust, etc. Anyone seen him round campus or know anything about the car?

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...or=&cardist=14

I am gonna go look at it this afternoon. I guess this will be an ok replacement for my Fiero. even though its not rotary

I want to say I know him.. The car doesn't look the same, but when I knew him it was flat black in front and in need of a paint job, so it could be. Same rims. Don't know anything about the car, I know he toyed with it on the street, but thats it.

OK, if the sale goes thru then we are gonna have to start giving away some riceer parts and add ons at the Drive-Ins. What color neon lighting are you gonna have on this machine? You will be needing some of those glow in the dark pedal sets? How 'bout a big fake wing for the rear, and a pair of the lighted washer spray heads?

You got to let us know what your colors and lighting preferences will be, I'm sure everyone can't wait to help you get your new ride up to standards. I refuse to say anything about going over to Capital now and what you'll be attracting over there. Don't complain about the remarks you're gonna hear, you know what they say, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the ricer".

i was thinking maybe some flashing blue neons all the way around. the biggest pepboys aluminum wing I can find and of course the plastic pedal covers for added effect. oh, and one of those Type S steering wheel covers that you see with the ridges and bumps for extra steering control. oh and who can forget hood pins on my OEM hood! I am so excited.

Hey Johny, you still got those 1600cc injectors? How much you want for them?

Listen to you!! Sounding as gitty as a ricer school girl!!

That dosn't seem like a bad GSR though.....if the motor is rebuilt....you can have a nice all motor car there....**** if you invest a few k into it you can add some boost. I was gonna go the same route with my civic...... Build up a B18c1 (gsr) engine for boost and drop it in my civic. But .....I smacked some sence into myself

Ryan, thanks for bringing us up to date on this car. Don't try the "work" excuse on why you're not posting, it don't cut no slack with this crowd. What is more important, your rotary pals or your job? If there are two banks involved and the dealership then it is possible they could be interested in giving the car up for a donation to a non-profit for the tax write-off, we reach an agreement with the non-profit to rebuild the car and sell it with the proceeds going to pay off the expenses and a donation to the non-profit. We could possibly get parts, garage storage, and critical labor donated. What is not donated could be paid for with our donations or when the car is auctioned or sold.

Just an idea, it would be a way of getting the car back on the road and resolving the title and lein issues, and there are plenty of non-porfits that are now taking vehicle donations. We have the expertise to rebuild it if we can get a core group that will commit to the project.

Amen, just come to a drive-in and hang around with us for awhile, you'd think we were all infected with the rotary virus. Surprised that you show up on Saturdays.

Josh, now you're talking! Whacha gonna do first, I like the hood pins and the lighting and should I add a vote for some really tacky graphics - go for major visible impact in the finest ricer traditions

Then its fate trying to tell you to go all the way. I'll take the FD off your hands to allow you to spend all your time and money on the GSR, No thanks are necessary, its the least I can do for a friend to allow him to fulfill his deepest desires. $5,000 - $6,000 ought to allow you to fully rice up your new ride. When can you sign her over to me?

Josh,

You could bring your GS-R to Fayetteville with me and Jeremy. I'd like to see it run my GTU, at least after I get some practice with it.

Josh,

I will outbid Bert's offer to $6001 if you will pass the FD to me? :-)
Neon light are too expensive, just tape some glowing stick on the bottom of the car and you will be set complete with the Vinyle looks.

Theres now a new RX-7 owner, I sold my GSL-SE to Joey Mabe from Burlington, but there will be another 7 in my future, just one that needs less to begin with, maybe even(gasp) an FC, TII or convertible. I hope to buy one next spring maybe, have to buy a house first though.

Tom: I was already an RX7 owner. I'm just an FB owner now too. Heh.

By the way, I LOVE this car. The lack of side mirrors IS driving me crazy. I also discovered (oddly enough) my FC key will crank the car without problems, the keys are nearly identical.

Sorry I left so early again guys... Saturday night was calling, and so was the girl! Mike (red trans-am guy) and I got into a little playing around with an '04 Cobra on the outer beltline. He got the best of both of our tailights... It was great! See you guys in two weeks.

sorry Joey ment to put new FB owner, yeah the no mirrors will drive you nuts, you can get some cheap replacements for 18.95 each I just kept hoping the guy I bought it from was going to find them. No luck though. BTW, there is a spare wheel for the car here in the car port I ment to tell you about, if you get in the area stop by it is right by the door in the carport.
