Hi Bert,

My baby is going to be absent from the crowd for a while as it's going through the pre-surgical hibernation to get some make over soon. It'll depend on the duration of this make over before she'll be ready for people to see. She is a bit shy right now as like getting a surgry done and want the wounds to be completely heal before she is ready to come out and play.

I am still around and will be keep tracking the progress of this forum and club. Keep the club spirit up before my baby is ready again. Hopefully the surgery and wound recovery will be a reasonable fast one.

P.S. By the way, it's nothing wrong of driving a Acura TLS, that is also my daily driver too. It's a nice all around car to carry you from point A to B!!

Andy

alright, lets not start all this, again. we all know that no harm was meant and in fact was even followed by an explanatory post. "can't we all just get along?"

Good luck with that. I don't mean to discourage you, but my bud Tyler was trying to find a good T2 for quite some time, nearly a year. He had almost given up before he finally found one, and it still required an engine rebuild.

You know where to find me if you want it fixed.
Well, the only reason i didnt take it to you was because i have to use the car A LOT, and as you said it could take a week or two... probably would have been better to take it to you in the first place, just cant be car-less for such a long period.

Andy, we'll all anxiously and impatiently await the outcome of her surgery and recovery. If you need some moral support and encouragement during this very trying time then we're all here for the both of you. Keep us posted on her progress and your condition, and if you need to visit with us at a meeting then come on out in your TLS, we understand.

Yeah, you're right, no need to waste space on a problem that will not improve. But why does gettin' along mean that the majority must overlook or tolerate the egos of a few? If Ashraf could just lock his ego in the trunk and come to the meetings and forum with an umencumbered willingness to help his fellow rotary fanatics without having to denegrate them first he would be a whole more effective. A willingness and ability to listen and understand is more beneficial to all involved than superior expertise and skills.

Change is what I'd like to see, not an apology or egotistical defense of an attitude. I just resent Brent being accused and attacked because he didn't jump at someone's insistence that he bring his car to them for repairs or adjustments if he chose not to take that avenue. I beleive that Brent wants to understand his car and be able to fix the problem, like the rest of us, not have to depend on someone else to fix his problem. He asked for help with understanding what was causing his problem not recriminations. "Just getting along doesn't mean ignoring problems and tolerating bad behavior. It means trying to change the things that are wrong and correcting behaviors or attitudes so that the larger group can function more effeciently, without friction.

My analogy: if you find a leak in you coolant system because a hose clamp is loose do you keep adding coolant to the reservoir or should you replace the hose?

Answer, Neither you tighten the clamp until the leak stops. I just want t dix the problem, not ignore it or over work it.

damn good analogy, Bert. I guess I just saw the 2nd post as a little less egotistical than you did. either way. WHERE IS MY RADIATOR?! RX7Store is so slow with the shipping!

Brent, I have gotten a little behind on the progression of my mods as you might have gathered from all my recent mishaps. It looks like it might be sometime towards end of october before i get my PFC and Commander, and around that time before i need a midpipe. if you can get someone else to buy it, go ahead and sell it, i dont want you to wait around on me; especially the way my luck has been lately.

Guys, unfortunately I will not be able to come to the next drive in. Gotta work. Yay. I may see if I can head there after work if I'm not there too late, but I probably won't get off until 9 or so.

Bert, I won't make the Drive In this saturday, but will most likely make the following one. I just got my new Racing Beat Catback system installed this past weekend. It looks great. I'm surprised that the sound is really not that different than stock except when you get into the throttle. Certainly not as loud as some systems out there. Anyway, ya'll have fun saturday. Hopefully someone else with a vert will make it out as well.

What I've been doing

This is the engine from leslie: 86 coupe. I don't have a rebuild kit yet but I've got it cleaned up and painted. I also have my intercooler, injectors e-fan and s-afc in my t2. it seems to run a lot better and its not over heating or even close to overheating. I did have to take off my front lic. plate and that grill cover.
Like I said before but no one commented " Tearing down my engine was like my first sexual experience I didn't know what I was doing but it sure felt good"

Steve; How was HIN did you buy some neon lights and a big *** wing? We need to talk about getting my car on a dyno.

Bert: Please look at the pics and add some of your ellequant comments. i.e.

The joy of owning a fine rotorus machine can only be escallated by ones opportunity to partake in the building and maintaining of same.

I most likely will NOT be at the next meet. I started installing the new spark plug wires from the drawing we had almost 4 weeks ago and when I pulled one of the stock wires off the the spark plug it pulled the entire core out of the plug (only on one). Sorry if that doesn't make sense but this is what it looked like.

I can't believe these damn cars... every time I try to fix something, something else messes up. I feel like I'm in a race trying to fix things before something else breaks.

no no, i can't seem to locate the right type of plugs that I need. I was looking for some ngk iridium 9's or 10's and everyplace that i called locally didn't stock them.

Especially with the rotary specific tip... which isn't necessarily required I heard.

I hate to hear that all you rotary fanatics aren't gonna be at the next meeting, that means that Brent is gonna have to bring quite a few cars with him to make up for all the cars that aren't gonna be there. I also hate to hear about the FD maintenance problems Josh and Taylor are having with their cars. Sounds like we need to start cultivating a local parts supplier that can get us the parts we need for our cars and stock the maintenance essentials like spark plugs, filters, some bolts and nuts, other fasteners, hoses, etc. If we all agreed to use this business and buy all our maintenance supplies from them then they might be willing to stock the maintenance parts and supplies we need.

Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

You are right about the second post. I guess I was writing my reply to his first post while he was writing his explanation on it. He did apologize and I think Brent was appreciative of that but my point was don't apologize, if he is serious then change the behavior. I hope he can, he has a lot to offer everyone. Sorry to hear about your radiator issues, we all need to talk about the problems with getting replacement and upgrade parts. There has to be a better, more reliable way to get the parts we need.

Yea, I feel your pain, Taylor, the iridiums aren't carried by any local autoparts. I just went with the copper. I plan on replacing 'em with every other oil change so I think they will do the trick. I agree with the fact that every time you try to fix something on an FD something else breaks(bolts, hoses, spark plugs, etc).
