And dang guys, i just realized I'll be at the Miami vs. State Game this Saturday at 7:45. Tailgaiting + Alcohol = No Meet for Taylor. I'm having mixed emotions right now... RX7 or Football??? I think I may call a therapist.

Hey Taylor, no problem, just get us all tickets and we'll have the Drive-In at Carter Finley on Saturday. Solved your problem, no charge! You driving the 7 to the game?

That would be pretty cool if I could get all of you guys tickets! For this game, i had a hard enough time just getting my stupid student ticket. And no, I am not driving my rx7 to the game... we usually go in a friends big truck.

By-the-way, I got out of my car a couple days ago and noticed that somebody had hit the other side of my car in the rear (opposite the big dent that I already had). It not really that bad, I just have a few scrapes on the driver side rear corner now.

Taylor, know what you're saying about the dings and scraps on campus. When I was there I had a beuatiful red Fiat Spyder 124 convertible. Bought it brand new and it was a sweet car. It was a choice between that and a Datsun 240Z and a Triumph TR6. Like I said this was a few years ago.

I was coming from the student store toward the road that runs by Pullen Park and runs from Hillsborough to Western Blvd, I stopped at the intersection and some guy rear ended my new, beautiful, red, Italian sports car. After I settled with his insurance company and got the car repaired and totally repainted I had parked it over at the National Guard Armory on Western Blvd for classes in Biltmore Hall, just two days out of the paint booth, paint wasn't even completely cured, and some jerk opened his door into my new, beautiful, Italian sports car with the new paint job! I found the damage when I got out of class, didn't even bother to leave a note or anything! I knew the guy was a dumb *** jerk but I can't beleive that he is still in school after 30 years! He must be after a PhD.

I feel sorry for you on that one! I've already begun saving for a paint and body overhaul as soon as I graduate and have a garage.

Hello all!
I am a local raleigh resident and proud owner of a 90 N/A convertible with light mods. I have been part of rx7club for only 2 or so months now and just stumbled upon this section today. I'm really excited to see that there are so many people in raleigh with 7's. I live only 15 or so minutes from that Char Grill on Strickland so i'll definitely try and make it out! Hope to see everyone there!

Got my new ECU, waterpump, alternator today. Hopefully I can get all this **** done by saturday evening. It'll be close. Have to squeeze time in to fix my car at work, as I work on other hunks of junk.

I might just roll out in my temporary beater... 96 mitsu galant powah baby!!! Cruisin with bad engine mounts, pimpin in style

Met "Turbo Maniac" tonight.... think that's his name. Saw him at the food lion at lake boone trail. Chased him down!!! hah.

Forgot to tell him I actually own a 7, not just some random 'kid' gawking at a 3rd gen. Even if my 7 is a POS

It's not a POS. It's a project car. There is a difference.

The only way I won't be at the meet is if I go to buy a TII up in DC area. There is also a Fiero GT I might take a look at. I suppose it makes more sense to replace the car, since I already have so many mods I could switch over. not to mention, I haven't been able to find a nice rotary to replace it so far.

90% chance I will be there though.

Just tell us you got a rotary under the hood and the hood latch is broken. That what Ryan does and we still beleive him after all these months!

Hey Ryan got that hood fixed yet, wnat to see how a 13B, or was that a 20B, fits in a Civic engine bay.

saturday drive in

I'm going to try and make it out again this saturday night. I've got a Halloween party to go to, but I think I can squeeze in both activities into one night. Just don't laugh if I've got on a costume !

I've got my new Racing Beat exhaust installed on the car and loving it. I've passed emissions and now I'm thinking of replacing the cats with a straight pipe and presilencer. Anyway, hope to make it out and meet some more folks.

I must apologize, I thought you'd been to a costume party at the last drive-in. You were in street clothes . . . :0)

Great to hear you got the RBs installed and YOU passed emissions, but how did the car do?

saturday drive in

Well, I've noticed a bit of power gain with the new RB exhaust. Probably has as much to do with the leak I had before around the mufflers as anything. But I still need to replace the cats. The RB mufflers have a nice sound to them too IMHO. I didn't want anything TOO loud. I live in a cul de sac and don't need to wake the neighbors every time I roll in late at night. I think it was money well spent.

I don't think it will ever be a "fast 7", but as long as it's fun to drive that's all that matters. Besides, it's a convertible and not a TII. It's a long term project !

Keith
90 Red Vert
-Apexi intake
-10mm Magnacore wires
-Hawk pads (damn dusty!)
-Racing Beat mufflers
-soon to be replaced cats !
-suspension upgrades after the cats!

Heh, the gain you feel by getting the RB catback is nothing compared to the gain you get with a high flow (or no) cat.

Hey guys I won't be at the meet tonight because I'm going to the State football game. I may end up going out to Capital though depending on how late it gets.

I did get the GTU dyno tuned yesterday and it put 160hp to the rear wheels. Steve went with me, and we ended up leaning it out and changing the spark timing, which had been advanced a bit too far. I've got around 5 more hp across the entire band and hopefully a little better gas mileage. As soon as I get it scanned I'll post the dyno sheet, whenever that may be.

I wont be there BUT............. I got my car running good, all those prboblems because the safc was on HOT WIRE instead of flap I also changed my TPS. I hope later this week Steve and I can install my turbo. I still have a lot to do before Nov. 20, I got my rear camber adjuster and new window moldings this week from Mazdatrix$. My Greddy harness and strut bar shold be here Mon. I have my computer at Pocketlogger for a chip install, "ITS ONLY MONEY, WE CAN MAKE SOME MORE TOMORROW"
I took the ECU out of MY 10th to put in my 87 t2 and it doesn't have a fuel cut at 6500 like the original one.

Enough about me...... let's talk about my cars HA HA
Good luck at the meet I hope to see you all soon.

Raleigh Rotary Drive-In, 10/23

We had a good drive-in on Saturday night. 3 new RX8 owners all driving beautiful blue 8s found their way to the Char Grill, one guy drove up from Jacksonville, and the other two were local owners. I brought my still running beautiful black 89 GTU, Greg brought his immaculate 91 Turbo beast, Josh, Ryan, Dave, and Ken came in "other cars" y'all know what I mean. Jeremy was there in his Mitsu, Steve brought his black FC, David found his way back in his black Turbo II, and Rick represented the FDs in his MB 7. That is a pretty poor parade when you only have one car to carry the load. No matter how many times he drove around the Char Grill it was still only one car! NIce try Rick.

No updates from Ryan on As the Rotor Turns, the "lady" won't call him back. Josh was disappointed, Johny and his daughter didn't show up for this week's drive-in. Josh's camry ain't that impressive.
As for the Grand Rotary Rally of the NC it will be held at Dave's spread on Saturday, 11/13 beginning at 3:00 PM. So far we will be doing some car judging, everyone clean'em up, some back road driving and havigating, some eating, taking pictures early and finally getting info on everyone that has been to a drive-in so that everyone can get your name, face, car and forum name straight, and we'll have a scavenger hunt and will have drawings for prizes

We really need everyone that has been a part of the drive-ins this summer to plan and make a real effort to join us at the GRR of NC on this day. It will be our normal drive-in date we'r ejust gonna start it early an at an alternate location.

I need everyone that has indicated a willingness to step up and assist with the event, shirt and logo design, providing good sources for food and drink (soft only, since this is an event you will be driving to and from and during). It looks like it will be $10 and the donation of a item that anyone else could use on their car for the door prizes to be given away. For guys driving in from out of town or out of state we will provide driving directions to the GRR site and we'll help the military guys with lodging in the area.

If I've overlooked or not mentioned something you're interested in or need to know, or if anyone has any suggestions please post'em here. I'll post a GRR thread on this forum once all the info is ready.

Fantastic FC

Josh, check out this FC. http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/i...irst_record=1&. Looks like what you've been looking for. Finally an FC that is valued and apprecitated for its lines and dependability, but she is a beautiful piece of art.

THAT is one clean FC! but $10K....OUCH!!! and not even a TII

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r=&cardist=120
This one is more "reasonably" price, but I have seen plenty of fully modded TIIs going for $7-8K that have been restored to like new and better condition.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...or=&cardist=15
Thats the one I have my eye on(and the one I was asking about in the PM, Steve). I havent talked to the owner yet, but if that motor has been rebuilt I am gonna go for this car. If not, I might still think about it. I only need it to last til next summer, by then I hope to have the FD project "done."

Bert, let me know what I can do to help out for the GRR.

Bert, 3 seems kinda late to me. You gotta figure that It will be dark by 5ish and that's no fun, and probably not the best idea if we're all going to go driving in an area that few are familiar with. Does it have to be at 3? I think 12 or 1 would be a better idea...
