Damn Eric! Your car looks mean. I want COILOVERS!!!!! and those wheels too. Want to trade for my Blitz's

I doubt I will be able to get a day to install the bushings before the autocross, ive got a race Feb 16 and it's all I can do to get ready for that. I need to take out the old motor in the miata and put in the new one, put in the lsd, cornerweight it, align it, set it up, etc.

And I'm having some sort of electrical/ground problem with my FD. I will start working on that tomorrow and hopefully I will still be able to make it to the meeting. I'm pretty sure its a bad ground or a bad connection, don't know yet though. Carl

Christina, I know the FD you were talking about, but mine was at Wake Tech 2 days ago. I drove the truck today. You'd know if it was mine, it is super loud and has 18" wheels

Jason, I saw your car a few weeks ago with the scar though, a full repaint would be awesome, if you need any parts let me know. I still have some stuff left. Carl

Not that I know much about tires, but you asked so I'm telling. I have Kumho Ecsta ASXs. Supposedly all-season "ultra-high performance" tires if I remember right. Fort Bragg's Smoke Bomb Hill car store FTW!

^You got them on Smoke Bomb Hill, GTFOH! I almost got my tires mounted there but they had a waiting line so I took them to Firestone on Bragg instead. It was a bit pricier but I got it done same day and they did a great job, and they're good people. They moved from the old building to over by the North post PX now.

Carl, what do your Blitz' look like? I might be interested, haha.

Sweet! I love the rims. I've always liked the gold/bronze look on FDs. It took all my efforts not to hump your car. It's nice to see something else OTHER than soccer mom cars, neons, and hondas at school. A change is always appreciated.

Newho, hopefully you can make it out eventually. Glad I had put my name on the card... I almost always leave a card on a car, even if I know who it is... hehe. Carl probably has had at least one, if not two before he sold the FB.

By the way, that reminds me... I need more RRDI cards.

There seemed to be a few people that showed interest, so Tomorrow for those who want to do a drive:
Meet at CharGrill between 2:00 - 2:30pm and we head out between 2:30-3:00pm.
I'm gonna browns MS Maps tonight for other roads off Bert's course and if I don't find any we'll run that one again to get better feel for it.

Again meet @ Chargille 2-2:30 for a pre-meet drive, hope to see peoples there.

I'll try to be there at the drive. Kristy's got some stuff to do in Raleigh in the morning, I'm not sure if we'll have that wrapped up by 3:00. If not, I will see you around 5:30ish.

*edit*

I cant emphasis enough how much I like the BFgoodrich GForce sports taht I got. They are stock size, quiet, grip really well, and were only like $89 a piece. I got them in 205/17/55. Excellent tires, especially for the price.

Ill be at char grill around 2:15

Just reserved our room at Fontana Hotel for April 18-22. We have two queen beds and probably plenty of floor space if ppl want to split it with us.

Man I'm SO excited now.

As for the cabins, there are only 8 one bedroom cabins left, and 1 two bed cabin.

We're getting down to the final wire here, guys.

I might be down with splitting a room with someone. I gotta check the dates though, my store has inventory in April so I can't take vacation for the two weeks before it. I think it's on the 15th though, so I should be fine.

FWD. Other than that, I like em. If they had been RWD, I would have bought one instead of a Miata.

my brother has a del sol.

When he got in my 89 vert for the first time and we drove out to the bar he turns to me and says "its really sad, but this car has a lot of torque compared to my car"

Thats whats wrong with the del sol. Had it come with a VTEC engine this may have been excusable, but instead it came with a 1.5l 4 banger. If someone climbs in an NA vert rotary and tells the driver it has a lot of torque then their daily is a del sol.

That being said Im thinking about putting del sol seats in my 91. so much more supportive IMO.

What a wild ride. Phil, BC, Joey, and myself had an awesome ride today. There was some great drifting and even a spin out. And still trying to figure out where that stop sign came from that I almost plowed over.

Definitely good times.

lessons learned:

1) DTSS is a damn cool thing. My previous tires wouldnt hold long enough to experience DTSS. My new tires do.

2) Old men on the side of the road are distracting. Hence magically appearing stop signs,

3) sub 1 yr old suspension plus new millenium computers > 16 year old suspension and DTSS.

4) Suspension doesnt mean **** when your tires wont hold. Ask Gary and Phil.

5) Phil is lucky. And squeaky.

6) You know you own a rotary when you come home and your girlfriend tells you that you smell like you have been mowing lawns. Thanks Gary, premix stinks.

For those who chickened out and didnt come, you missed out on a great day. Gary did a fantastic job leading. Phil is as cool as the other side of the pillow in situations that should make him otherwise.

Welcome to Spin City. Population: Phillip. 'Nuff said. Shot suspension FTL. Good brake rotors and pads (which are dying) FTW!

This is odd, but on the drive home my Miata seems a LOT faster now. I think I must have blown out some carbon or something on that run. It makes sense, since I have been driving it like a granny since Deals Gap last year on account of the bad wheel bearings. It's good to open her up.

We'll have to do it again when I have the new suspension on it in a few weeks. Then we'll see if that slippery RX-8 can get away this time.
