I dunno Gary, with all the symptoms you spoke of...just getting the flash wouldn't fix those problems. This flash was used to correct the oil flow from the metering oil pump. Did the dealership even do the drive tests on your car? Did they check the cat like they were supposed to? Did they check your coil packs? I'm just saying, something isn't adding up. Maybe you were one of the lucky ones but I would hate to find out that they just gave you a quick fix instead of dealing with it head-on.

Eh, you'll have more fun up there. All it is down here is drag racing, over and over and over and over and over and over and over...get the point? Haha. You actually got me thinking about coming up there instead now, haha. Kinda short on cash though. There are a couple new guys down here, they're both in HS still I think but they have FDs, and I'm supposed to meet them at Freaky Friday. I'll see if they want to go up there instead.

I might still go, but I REALLY want to run some go karts, haha. I'll let you know what I'm doing. PM me your cell.

Hey Josh, how's the project coming? Really didn't get to talk to you much at the last meet.

Well I find it odd that two high school kids can afford FDs, HAHA. Well, their parents can anyway, unless they're running drugs or something, lol. Either way, they have them and I'm trying to welcome them to the club, or at least make sure they don't "fast and furious" their cars, haha. And yes Nic, I'm still trying to recapture my youth...if I was lucky I'd also have a certain 18 y.o. to help out with that, HAHA. I do still plan on making it out Sunday, and I'll probably just go to the MSCCNC meet Friday night too, I just gotta budget my money wisely. I'm also trying to get ahold of Chris to see if he got his FD fires under control enough to make the trip up there. If I can I'll have a four-ship sortie of FDs on it's way Friday night!

project is going swimmingly. all but two or three wires have been run. the cooling system comes in this friday. so about another day of work, a PCM flash, and an exhaust. and my baby is back on the road.

somewhere in there i have to put my new seat covers in place. but that is cosmetic. speaking of that ERIC WHEN ARE YOU GETTTING THIS ENGINE? ;-)

I agree Nic, I'm gonna run it around the next few days to see if the IDle condition comes back. I did notice on the wya home that even just sitting at a light the idle is more constant in terms of RMPS that it had been. I think the PCM flash does more than just oil mete flow. Maybe they snuck in a routine to make sure the idle doesn't fall below 700 rpm.
I do agree with your educated opinion that the flash is mearly a quick fix for an engine that just happens to pass the tests and further down the line those that just got flashed will have more issues that those with the engine replacement. But as Is aid on the other site it's a moot point if I'm hearing an 07 revving it's engine in my future.
After the avelange of titanium screaming down the dragon, I kind of want to be more unique than just a pin stripe and an automatic transmission. Plus the copper red and blue micca are really cachting my eye. Oh and the 6 speed automatic transmission....mmmmmm

Copper won't be available for the '07...it was a one time run for '06. And the Stormy Blue gives me the warm and fuzzies!

Yeah that blue is really pretty. I think it would look good on an FD.

did you say WORK???

There are a few acceptable excuses for missing a rotary event and WORK ain't one of them:
I just bought a new 2007 Corvette with one of those highly complicated piston engines and I'll be busy in the garage doing a rotary swap,
I wrecked my rotary and broke both legs so I can't shift or make the gas pedal work,
I had a death in the family, I dropped my car keys in the casket, and they buried my car keys with the relative,
I've been selected as the principal driver for the SpeedSource Racing Team and my first race is today,
I died,
And the best reason for not attending a rotary event:
I own an RX8 and my engine is being swapped out and the loaner car they gave me is a miata,

Nice one Bert, but I take that one a little personal! LOL Also, I got a Ford Freestar as my loaner, I'd have been happy with a Miata!!!

Now only if one of those excuses would help with getting out of work responsibilities.... someone happen to have this Saturday's winning lottery numbers?

okay so i think i need to go down and burn HINSON'S down. I thought I was gonna get my radiator this week, but today i get an email that he thought my order was filled and that they accidently shipped their last radiator to ANOTHER customer. WTF?! who is up to a trip down to alabama?! anyhow, looks like my project will once again be delayed. i guess it will give me time to put in my seat covers, and get the PCM flashed.

Damn Josh, Those guys have more excuses than Eric.

Have they tried " We dont like to ship on the day before we're gonna be off"
How about "We're not exactly sure where to send it"

Give it up Josh, I think someone is trying to tell you it ain't gonna happen. You still got the rotary and turbos so slap'em in and get back on the road. Between Hinson not delivering and Eric not pickin' up how much clearer does the message have to be?
