PM Capn (Barry). He use to work someplace here in town (Garner) that did that stuff before he left for the big city (Charlotte) and school. From what I understand it wasn't that expensive either.

Now I remember why I bought the convertible, or one of the reasons. Been driving around town today with the top DOWN!!!! Man it's nice outside, what a nice change from all the rain and cold weather we've been having around here.

Does anyone have 4 lug FC hubs with some decent bearings?

My wheel bearings are going out, BIG time, but it's too much of a pain in the *** to pry them out of the hub, and it's definitely too expensive to replace the whole hub from the dealer. Nobody wants 4 lug, but I'm eventually going to do the 5 lug swap, so I don't want to spend too much money right now, just to get by.

Thanks!
Christina

Hi everyone ! I just wanted to tell the local Raleigh folks about a new business over in Garner which I checked out yesterday (saturday). It's called Rush Hour Karting (www.rushhourkarting.com) and I had a blast there. The fees and more info are listed on the site. If you've ever wanted to drive a real Kart and not a go cart ala Adventure Landing, this is a good place to go. The track is indoors and there is also a Greenshield's Pub onsite for post racing fun.

I have no affiliation with this company. I just wanted to give kudos for a well run establishment and figured it might even be a fun place for a Rotary Drive In sometime.... Bert, if there's enough interest, I'd be happy to help organize a meet there.

Eric, saw you guys yesterday as I was heading out there. Didn't get to check out how the new rims worked out....

The guys at the MSCCNC have been talking about hitting this place on the forum since it opened in December and when I was at the meet Friday night they put it down as an event to try and get everyone in on. They went to one in Charlotte called VLK and had a blast it sounds like. It was $34 bucks for four races they said. The one in Garner someone posted was $17 bucks for a single race. It looks like if enough people get involved you can get better rates and track time if you come as a group/meet/event or something like that. Anyway you look at it it still sounds like fun! It may be something where we should try and get the RRDI and MSCCNC groups together to see if we get enough people to pull off a discount or whatever somehow.

I bought a membership when I was there yesterday, so a single "heat" now costs $17 . Otherwise it's $20. A heat is like 8 minutes and depending on how fast you're running, that's like about 12 laps or so. That may not sound like much, but I was pulling enough G's in the corners and working my arms hard enough that after the heat was over, I definitely felt that I got my moneys worth.

One nice thing about being there early is my girlfriend and I were the only two allowed out there during our heat. They spaced us out when we left the pits so I was able to run hard against the clock. When we were done they handed us each a computer print out with our lap times for each lap plus our avg speeds. I'm happy to say my g/f DIDN'T beat me, but if she had I would have taken it like a man !

I also met and spoke at some length with one of the mgrs/Phillip. Nice guy who also rides motorcycles... Anyway, I would think perhaps they'd give us some kind of group rate if we got enough people to commit.

I went to an indoor karting facility in CA, and have raced at VIR's Go-Kart Track. I can tell you this is the closest thing to road racing as you can get. Much much more intense than Adventure Landing karts. If you all plan to do a group event im in! Carl

LOL, that why i had to sell the N/A to ya and get a turbo, I needed more horsepower cus my heavy *** was driving. It really does suck though when these little kids go flying past you. Its pretty humbling.

Hey Steve, you won't have to worry about the kids flying past you over at Rush Hour Karting... There is a minimum height requirement to drive... Plus you have to have a driver's license to drive the larger 200cc karts. There were a couple of kids there but they were teenagers and drove the 125cc versions and they were run separately.

Sup, just saying hi...

I dont have any 7, or a rotary for that matter, but seeing as I was on this board looking for one (i ended up with an f-body) I figured id try to get invovled in the raleigh car scene even without a 7.

holyshit 364 pages

Well the thread title says happenings in raleigh on saturdays, so anything neat going on i should know about?
