i'd be interested in that. it sounds fun as hell.
tarheel- the motor has no more than 50K on it and it ran 14.5(timeslips found in car) and apears to be quite stock. i'd love to get rid of it in the next week or so. i think my CRX's last leg is about to break so im gonna try to find an NA or somethin to play with for a while. i'd love to get like 8 for the car and with that you can have my GXL also which has allthe parts except the windshield to make the car driveable. feel free to call me. i'm gonna PM my cell # to ya real quick.

I was up at VIR today, it is a very nice racing facility. I met Batquano from Rocky Mount and his son, John; they were attending the driving school. Several guys from the MSSofNC were there enjoying the track time. I also met zoooom and his wife up there. The nice thing about the event was that at noon the track had a parade lap, actually 3 laps and anyone that wanted to join the "parade" could hit the track, as long as your car was technically safe and mechanically sound. It was only three laps but I had a blast, my first time on a race course. It was a bueatiful day for a drive up and the roads to Alton, Va were made for our sports cars. I saw a bunch of cars from just about everywhere in the eastern US and Canada.

I took some pics of the 7s and some other interesting cars and will try to post them this week on one of the VIR threads in this section. I'm looking forward to going up in October for the VIR 400.

Hi i live in high point, NC.

I just put my rebuild in. Used rotaryaviation.com's kit. Car won't run. I've worked on it since January and I am BURNT OUT from it. Seriously, working out in the heat everyday in the summer trying to fix it will do it. I've got it to start with my mazdatrix fuel bleedoff valve thing on it, but it will go to 3k rpms, then slowly go down to 2k rpms, then shut off.

What i'm asking for, is there anyone in NC that will come help me? All i have is ~150 dollars. Maybe I have something connected wrong, I don't know. I've reconnected everything about 10 times at least. I follow the FSM on my hoses, and to my luck it still won't run. I'm just a 16 year old, who's put in at least a few hundred hours into his rebuild and his car. I need some help, and I'm coming here to ask you guys for it. Is there anyone that can help me? Please....

I know your talking drag - but they have a 4,000 ft straight way and those 2nd and 3rd gens with straight pipes could really hold there own.

Hope you can bring it to the drive-in on Saturday, Be sure that Ken will drive in with his FC.

I know your frustration, if your engine has good compression numbers then we can get your car running. Can you give us more information about your car.
-What model and year is it? Is it a turbo or NA?
-Was it running at all before the rebuild?
-Have you searched the appropriate generation discussion area for the problems you are having? If so did you find anything that was close to your symptoms and problems?
-In doing the rebuild did you run into any problems you weren't too sure about, or do something that might have led to a problem?
-At our last meeting we had a FD owner that rebuilt his engine from scratch without any prior rotary experience. I know Rick probably ran into some of the problems you are having. I haven't seen him on this forum but I'll email him about your problems. Can you email me a phone number or email so that he can contact you, if he thinks he can help.

If you haven't done a search in your car's gen discussion area, do that first to see what you can find and you might be able to narrow down what you should be looking for it will also help others focus their advice.

Here's a thread about my situation

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=316508

its a 1988 GXL

it was running before... coolant o rings where shot

i didn't come to any problems or anything in that manner that I didn't understand, the motor is smooth and the compression is very strong when i turn it with a 19mm socket and breaker bar at the eccectric lock bolt. i can tell it's alot more compression than when i was doing the same thing before it was rebuilt.

i just handed out another card today. the only reason i stopped the guy was because i thought it was ken. haha- it was identical to his, just dirty- which isnt like ken in the 7. it was red with a chipped up front bumper. all my big half sheets are in kens car but ihad one of the little business cards with me so i gave it to the guy. he said he had 5 RX7's so maybe we found somethin good. who knows? it was at a stoplight so i couldnt really talk to him long. maybe i picked us up another visitor.

JUST A REMINDER: The Raleigh Rotary Drive-in will be held on schedule this Saturday, June 26th, at the Char Grill on Strickland Rd just west of the Six Forks intersection.

We start about 6:30 pm for the FC guys and at 7:00 pm and later for the FDs. We understand that it takes them a little longer to get thru traffic since a lot of the drivers on the road stop and stare at those beautiful cars, whether they be Montego Blue, VR, Brillant Black, or CYM! FB owners, come whenever you make it, we're always thrilled to see you first gen owners.

I'll have some more flyers and business cards and will bring some pics of VIR since I'm having no luck posting them on this forum.

Who knows of a good photo hosting site that I could use to link to photos?
