Andy Griffith dead at 86

 

 

I know that car. Stayed at my place for a few weeks. I cleaned up a bit of wiring and such trying to get it ready for the chump car event. They took it out to a track day at Road Atlanta as well. It has a fuel supply issue I think. I suggested a little Talladega test, they did not want to test long enough to get it sorted, then the team fell apart.

Simon, you should come out to OGTA some time (with or without the car), although our group may not be big enough for your liking, kind of like Zoom-Fest.

Sweet! They replaced a bit I think? It runs great right now, aside from a very small stumble around 3500-4500 it seems, not sure if that's how it was, but it's not bad then runs smooth all the way up. I do want to do a test before I race it though as I've never driven a 1st gen on track. I plan on going through it well before it goes back out with me and cleaning it up a bit, I'm **** about clean on a track car. lol

I will come out, I prefer smaller groups at meets anyway it typically means a better time. If any of you are near the Athens area I've been setting meets up there since 2005 and they're a good small group of people, no drama or any of that "fast and the furious" type crowd. What's Zoom-Fest?

Yeah, we meet at the same location and time the first Tuesday of every month. We just started meeting a the Tilted Kilt at the Mall of Georgia a couple of month ago. Up until the recent change we met at the same place for the last 5 years.

Two deuces and Flipper. Flipper, being a SkyActiv machine, is worth 2.0 12A equivalents.

Simon, I live about 15 minutes from Athens, out on Jefferson River Rd. I keep hearing about a mythological rotary group in Athens.

I'm doing an FB project that's going to look and, hopefully run, a lot like yours. Here's the progress so far:

I moved out of Athens but still make it down for the meets there, these meets you all set up are actually closer to me now. :p

It's tonight, but didn't start or end with 7s. We've got everything from RX-2s, RX-3s, the very scarce furry RX-4, Rotary Pickups, 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen RX-7s, RX-8s, and a smattering of Miatas.

Tonight, starting around 6.30 or 7, Tilted Kilt at Mall of Ga (up the hill, just short of the Mazda dealer, actually).

I'm 19, but I've owned 6 Rx7's all first gen except for one, and now i drive a 2nd gen rx7.

And Ray, I didn't drive a Mazda last night.

 

That would be mine. Only it's a pre-production. Has a T2 tranny, hood, and a lot of other goodies but no T2 motor.

 

So we still need an ID on the red and the black Mazda boingers, anybody know? Tommy, you didn't sell the RX-8 and buy a sexy red Mazda6, right?
