I had a lot of trouble breaking a couple of the brake line nuts loose. I tried CRC Freeze Off and this stuff works great. I highly recomend you guys get a can of this stuff for those hard to break loose nuts and bolts.

Mike we were looking for you on 85 today. On the way home, around 4:30, I ran into Dean the Dear Slayer at Pleasant Hill, we cruised through the traffic up to Hamilton Mills.

I thought you government workers were out by then.

And we found a new place to get beer, right next to the Home Depot, Brewskies or something like that, which should help with the Honey Dew explanation for the wife.

Isn't that CRC Freeze Off the stuff they use to make Prairie Oysters?

That is good to know Ray. We all better be careful where we spray that Freeze Off or the demographics of the club could change.

Brewskis, huh. What Home Depot is that by?

Up for sale today, the price is right!
What a coincidence, I had some down time this morning at work and went through a few of my old threads. I ended up going through the thread I made in the 1st gen section about my old red FB- I never realized how that car transformed from when I pulled it out of the weeds to when I sold it. Just wanted to give another 'Thank you' to everyone who helped me out with the car, hope there are no hard feelings about me selling it.

That was a fine car, that GS. Only regrets are the ones you'll have each time you look at that thread!

There's FB projects all over the place Brett, why don't you get one going?

I'm determined to pick up another cheap car once I get my income taxes back in a few months. I've still got my eye on the red 91 FC a few miles from the house, I'm sure they'll never get it running, but the people who own it are a little scatterbrained. We'll just have to see what comes along then...

Nothing is quite as impressive as two fine FB's cruising down I85 with a couple OGTA's at the wheel.

I forgot to post the 12A count for the meeting:

12A count for the 09-20-11 OGTA meeting:

2 FB's = 2 12A's (Dean, Ray)

I am going to be out in Jefferson tonight (Jefferson football game) Really there to see a freinds daughter in the band. I'll be in Michelle's car, but I will keep an eye out for crazed FBs out terrorising the Jefferson community.

I just put in a rockauto order on Wednesday, it shipped yesterday. They've got some great close out deals on denso plugs, dizzy caps and rotors, steering and brake parts. I was tempted by those motor and tranny mounts, but I've already got plenty of those hanging around.

Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty $ 4.18 x 1 = $ 4.18

AIRTEX / WELLS 5D1211 Distributor Cap
Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty $ 9.35 s 1 = $ 9.35

BECK/ARNLEY 0160057 (016-0057) Oil Drain Plug $ 1.56 x 2 = $ 3.12

BECK/ARNLEY 0420885 Air Filter
Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty $ 3.17 x 2 = $ 6.34

BECK/ARNLEY 1013590 Tie Rod Center Stud
Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty $ 3.72 x 2 = $ 7.44

BOSCH 03164 Distributor Cap
Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty $ 7.98 x 2 = $ 15.96

BOSCH 04133 Distributor Rotor
Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty $ 4.64 x 2 = $ 9.28

DENSO 3104 (W25EDR14) Spark Plug
Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty $ 2.34 x 20 = $ 46.80

FRAM G4775 Fuel Filter
Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty $ 1.22 x 4 = $ 4.88

MEVOTECH MES2192R Inner Tie Rod End $ 12.71 x 2 = $ 25.42

STANT 10725 (11725) Fuel Tank Cap

20 spark plugs, Ray? That's enough to keep 5 FB's running forever! lol

Speaking of spark plugs, I've got my step dad's Ford Ranger for a while since he doesn't need it at the time. I bought 8 NGK G-Power Platinum plugs and a Pronto air and fuel filter from Rock Auto on Sunday for $30 or so shipped. I got 7 of the 8 plugs changed today, why Ford put 8 plugs in a 4 banger is I don't know. I'm thinking that I'll have to pull the manifold to do the last one... And on the fuel filter, you have to have a special tool to get the hose ends off. Why couldn't they use a simple rubber hose and clamp? Made me enjoy the FC just a little more...

Anyone have any good plans for this weekend? I'm thinking about taking the truck somewhere in the mountains for a day with the girlfriend.

Ray, thanks for all of the advice on the brake job today. I'll revert to plan "A" for bleeding the brakes tomorrow. My wife as agreed to let me use her Big foot in the car while I tweek the bleed valves.

What channel is that on Alex?

Here's the thing with the Rock Auto purchases.. If you buy just a few things you still pay a lot of shipping ($5-10), so it isn't that good a deal.

But the shipping pretty much tops out around $11.00 per location, so if you buy a lot of things you start to get the really low prices.

You'll see this because each time you add something the shipping price won't go up (even goes down sometimes, for some reason).

That's cool, I can watch it right on my computer and save the TV for the Sunday morning political talk shows. Multitasking big time. Thanks Alex!

I'm watching it now. Man they are having a hard time staying on the track!
