i personally dislike most "drift kings" they actually cant drive worth a crap. They get in a parking lot and just let the car loose and say they have drift scares when they slam into the side of the wall. Fred you are not like that. but like what polo said. they are getting in the same category because alot that i see as well look like pure ****. but has a drift sticker and charm and every sentence that comes out of there mouth has the word slide/drift or drift event in it. 2 gens are just so easy to obtain. maybe thats the issue. This is coming from a person that has owned over 10 2gens in the past 10 or so years!

We used to have to fit Old School's into the equation, but that hasn't been a problem lately.

FCs have fallen under the magic $1,000.00 mark. Its like 1st gens years ago.
They are at that magic price point where they are cheap to acquire and fairly easy
to fix or keep running. Unlike 1st gens, SAs in particular, parts are still available and
easy to get. This makes them popular for a lot of folks. Ugly but popular
I don't expect to see this happen for the FDs, not enough sold and they will probably
bottom out around 3 or 4K in a few years.
FEs on the other hand will be good and cheap in just a few years once they fall out
of that magic 100,000 mile warranty and get older with issues

Ray, the official pecking order is "Pre 79 and SA > FB > FE > FD > Old School Datsun > Old School Toyota > FC > Boingers" 
Lets leave the butt hurting out of OGTA. As I see it, and am sure original OGTA agree - All are welcome. More the better. Boinger or FC - we have never discriminated.
If it turns into a pissing contest or juvenile burn outs and stuff - I will find somewhere else to hang.

First Fred, with the widebody, is Fred the Elder.
The other Fred, with the 13B, is Fred the Younger.
Unless13B Fred has been around longer than widebody Fred, in which case 13B Fred get's to be Fred the Elder.
You guys figure it out.

That was alot of reading... I liked the meet... it was chill and everyone was getting along.
Rotary owners are like that
I've had my car for around 3 years now and know a ton of people in the rotary community! Hopefully I can get some more mature rotor heads out to the next meet

Ok thanx for clearing that up I was like what the hell lol and yea I agree with everybody wants to be a drift king I can only speak for my self when I say I've been into the sport way before it came to the u.s so I'm not one of these new guys I'm a old drift soul lol and I went with the FC platform cause I wanted to be different plus I love the rotary look at all the 240s running around they are like the Honda civic of the drift community I hate Honda civics didn't wanna be one of those guys u go to a drift event ur lucky to see 1 RX7 out there

I see where Marco's coming from, and Tim's really right. Ragged out FC's are cheap, and they're an easy car for high school kids getting their first car to rice out and get all drifto, just like the 240sx or any other cheap RWD car. I've sold FC parts on the side for a few years and I can't even recall how many people I've talked with/ sold to that claim to be 'drifers' and think their car is so badass when it's nothing more than a high mileage, ragged out n/a FC that they slide around Wal-Mart parking lots.
When I first got my FC (a ragged out high mileage n/a) at 15 I thought it was badass
I slid out in 4 or 5 curves, painted **** red so it looked cool, got an autozone shift ****, got a 118 mph speeding ticket, a lot of stupid ****. Luckily some rotary friends helped steer me out of that and I'm rocking a pretty decent FC now, overlooking my ricer wheels. Just like FC's, 240's can look nice if they've been taken care of/ cleaned up and have tasteful mods, if any. But when your car looks like hell and is stickered up, most people see it as rice if they haven't seen the car up close. I know I judge the hell out of Civic's/ 240's/ Integra's when they look riced out and have some big muffler on the back, but I really have no clue about the car and it's probably way nicer than mine half of the time...
On another note, my clutch slave is on it's way out. I went to pull off from a light this evening and the pedal stayed on the floor. My TOB's been making some noise too, and the tranny has a slight wine, so I think I'll swap transmissions/ clutches/ clutch slaves this weekend from the old FC. Plus whatever I get the time for... Anyone want to come help in the hot sun with me? We have cookies...
