I had fun everyone... it was nice to actually get my rotary to an event. Feels like it's been forever since I have been able to bring her out.
Cheers!

Good to see all you guys last night - great meet. I do think we all need to get a hood prop like David has on his Datsun. Classic.
Not sure what is going with people hanging stuff off the back of their cars, but it does seem to be catching on. I think Donnie started all this last year with the big silver *****. Ray, you must have a picuture of this you can post to remind everyone.
Collin good to hear from you. I think that VW is a perfect candidate for rotary swap.
Now let the 12A count argument begin....

Mike I'm going to 2nd Ray's recording of the 12A points. We'll let the young ones fight it out. It was soooo much fun discussing the point count last night though.
The goat is saying "Give me a Coors Lite damn it!"

Holly, thanks for the verification. I did take every point that was raised in the Great 12A Points Equivalency Debate from last night when making the final pointage assignments, everything was very carefully considered. And Mike S. also totally agrees, so it pretty much doesn't matter what the youngsters think.
The Elders Have Spoken!
1 RX-2 (Jeremy) = 2 12A's
1 SA (Andrew) = 1.5 12A's
1 12A FC (John) = 2 12A's (I mean, what better way to improve an FC?)
1 13B Datsun (David) = 2 12A's (I mean, how weird can you get?)
5 FB's (Mike, Carlton, Dean, Greg the Younger, Ray) = 5 12A's
1 PrePro (Kristy) = 1 12A (A well deserved upgrade from the earlier rating of 0.75)
1 FC (New Guy Mike from Monroe) = 0.5 12A's
1 FD = 1 12A (Can't remember his name, but that car is totally cool)
3 FE's (Holly, Tommy, Billy) = less than 1 12A (Holly I'll let you figure this one out but I'm estimating 1)
No Pistons = No 12A's (nice work OGTA's!)
Total 12A Equivalent Turn Out = 16 12A's. The hard way.
It is especially noteworthy that this is the first OGTA meeting at which every participant showed up in a rotary.
NO PISTONS!!!

Any fool with a camera and too much free time can do it Holly, all you need is a good story. And that June meeting certainly was an interesting one.
I just wish Brett had showed up, I wanted to ask him how you remove those damn rubber things that someone stuck on my strut towers. I asked Gene at the last meeting but he couldn't figure it out.
Richard, that new red FD you got is one fine car! I was serious about doing an even swap for the Silver One, just let me know.

You're not fooling anybody Ray. I'm sure you are investigating how to get a set of the directional strut covers New Guy Mike had on his GXL

Thanks Michael, I'll give that a try. If I can get them off I'll bet Tim will give me a few bucks for them.
Tim, you know I've always wanted a shiny new red FD, don't worry I'll hold on to it. Replacing the Silver One will be hard, but it will let me get serious about finding that mint white SE with the red leather interior.

Ray, Richard has had his FD since before 2006, when I first met him. He's just taken it from stock to what it is now. And I don't think he will be trading anytime soon. I think he has it willed to me.

Yeah, Those strut tower covers with the cold air induction that Mike has are probably good for an extra 10 hp.
I wish Brett was there to educate us on those strut tower covers. I've never seen FC covers like that before. Did some FC come with a selectable firmness feature for the suspesion?

Good enough explination?
Sorry I couldn't make it, I'm trying to save money. Actually, I'm trying not to spend money I don't have... . Buying the BMW broke me, but the .07 or .08 cents savings on every mile I choose to drive in it over the FC should hopefully add up over time. 200 miles a week equals a $728 yearly savings. In 2.197802197802198 years the BMW could pay for itself
Good explination and hope to see you next time Brett!
Mark (Kentetsu) has the following questions from the post on the 1st gen non technical section. They are really pretty good questions, I'd like to know myself.
Can you dudes who own the cars provide some kind of explination?
Here's his post:
Questions:
1. What's the deal with the fuel filter in the engine bay (Andrew's car)? Hard to tell in the pic, but looks to be hooked up at only one end. And I can see both of the fuel lines, and it isn't connected to either of them as far as I can tell.
2. Okay, the fd. Am I losing it? or is there this big assed intercooler mounted behind the radiator? Am I missing something? lol
3. I admit it, you've got me curious about that hose on Dean's car.
Keep up the good work guys, you're really starting to fill that parking lot up...

Thanks Gene and Holly, I've updated the thread in the non-tech section accordingly:

Maybe we should make the theme for the July OGTA meeting "Things we Hang on the back of our Rotaries". That'd get Donnie out for sure.
