Sure he's ONLY 63, but Hurley Heywood is the MAN when it comes to Daytona. I'm sure Jim's a great guy and all, but Hurley's gonna smoke him when the Senior Series gets going.

Some day I am going to be in a position where I can take on another rotary project. Look at this car. Man, this would make a cool ride. Yeah, I know there is probably more body work to be done on this car than I can stomach, but that could be one cool ride.

You could get it for Michelle Mike, she would be the envy of your neighborhood and your 2nd car expenses would be greatly reduced from those of the tour bus she is currently driving. Imagine, better gas mileage, lower insurance costs, no maintenance expenses!

Nice car, looks like that one has the aftermarket OCD on it too.

You're right, Ray. The aftermarket OCD is not a precise as the OEM OCD, but it does a pretty good job.

Wait till you see The Blue One tonight. It is idleing smooth as a baby's bottom. I learned alot in the last 60 days about rats nest, vacuum lines, and venting systems. One think I did learn is that all nipples are not the same. It took me until I was almost 52 to figure that out.

Too much rain Mike, show me the Blue One next time.

Feb 1, 2011 OGTA Report:

According to Kristy:

2 FE's = 0.25 12As (Holly, Billy)

1 PrePro = 0.75 12A's (Kristy)

5 FB's = 5 12A's (Ben, Crit, Mike, Dean, Ray)

Heavy Duty Rain all night long, no activity in the parking lot, but what a ride home we had!

Which just goes to show you, when the going gets rough, the FC's don't show up.

The meeting was held in a historical downpour, so I didn’t risk my camera (except on the way home when we stopped for gas, see below).

So here's some similar shots from the archives:

On the 30 mile home drive through the torrential downpour Dean and I stopped to get some gas in Jefferson, so I took some pics of his harlequin 7

Good word, Ray. I had to consult MW on this one. Notice the use of bold font in my reply.

You know once those FCs hit production, they just can't go in the rain like a 1st gen.

Must be something to do with the way the hoods open up or something

We didn't want our rubber strut tower covers to get wet... Or our rack and pinion steering

My rear tires were too bad to get out in the weather. And 3 of the tires on the 'vert are bald...

Speak for yourself, Ray . Ben and I went out in the rain and set the cold-start high idle on his GSL-SE. Sometimes mother nature can't keep the tinkerers from tinkering.

Ben, did the car clear up on the way home?

The correction has been duly recorded in the archives! Indeed, what's a little rain to an OGTA meeting?

Shoot, if the rest of us hadn't had so much important official business to attend to we would have been out in the lot ourselves.

yeah, it took longer than expected, so i started having my doubts that it would stop, but about 25 minutes down the road, it stopped choking. i've been reading your SE crash course and learning a little bit, but i have really bad reading comprehension, so i'm not learning as much as i would if i just tore it down to the block and put it back together with all new gaskets.

meet location/date/time

For some reason I thought you all met on the second tuesday of each month, so apparently I missed February's meeting. I would like to attend the next meet up, and it looks like from the latest threads that there might be an new location in the works? If someone could let me know the date, time, and location of the next meet up, my 86 GXL and I would love to attend. Am I correct that beer will be available???

Here's an early head's up for the next "official" OGTA meeting, which is, you guessed it, Tuesday March 1st (3-1-11):

'Course Crit, Mike, Holly and some of the other subversives could be having a clandestine meet over at Tilted **** any time, you never know.

I hear they have great waitresses, and beer.

Speaking of OGTA events, here's some new toys for Crit and Dena's Lake House Event this year:

Here's the budget version, we should be able to have one of these ready for the meet:

Just keep on eye on the thread. If there is a clandestine meet it will be announced here.

Like Ray said, next meet is Tuesday, March 1. And, some people do call it beer, but the official name is "business meeting". We usually have a few pitchers of business to attend to.
