Old guys with 12As club meeting
Oh snap! I tripped over all that money I got and someone stole it, and all they gave me was this car!

It's a '97 SE.. Manual, as you can see. Bought it from a co-worker of mine for a good price! 191k, faded paint, slightly worn tan interior, power...well... everything. It's like Brett's, only black on tan, manual and lower miles.
Only problem is (and I knew this), it's leaking coolant and currently I am unable to locate it. It got worse after I drove it home. Tim had complained a few months ago about it leaking coolant onto the driveway, and I had tried to find it, but it was 10pm at night and my little flashlight wasn't adequate light.
I'll have to wait until the snow is gone to pull it on ramps and try to figure it out. I know that it's coming from the rear of the engine (near firewall).. one heater core hose is wet but when I went to feel it, I couldn't feel any real hardcore wet spots. I started it and let it warm up idling.. tried it with the heater on and off and I can't even get it to leak now. Seems like it'll only leak if I DRIVE it. But yeah, with the leak (and it makes the damn smoke POUR from under the hood), the engine gets too warm under load. Though if you disengage the clutch and coast, the temp begins dropping pretty rapidly.
Any ideas? Brett?

I can't believe you just bought the same **** car you gave Brett so much grief over. Good lord.
I've had a job, it's just that Holly was asking if I was going to the lunch outing that's nowhere near me on a workday.
So how was lunch, anyway? What's the point count?

Well for one, yes, I bought a Maxima as well. I, however, did not seek it out. It just kinda fell into my hands. You see, Tim was given a new car by his wife's grandparents because he is commuting a lot farther now that he's back in school. So, he needed to sell the Maxima. To go back to school, he had to step down at work and take a pay cut and pull back most of the hours he was working and work less because of school. Considering he has a wife and kid, he needed the money. So, when I got my refund check, I went hunting for a 929, a Miata, or an Accord. Sadly, Crown Vics run too much money.
On my way to work the other day, while thinking about two cars I'd found online, I saw a Maxima on the interstate and it popped into my head. So, I texted Tim and asked if he wanted to sell the Maxima to me.... we agreed on a very, very, VERY fair price (To me anyways, I practically STOLE the car) and it was a done deal. I feel much more confident knowing he's the second owner of the car, he drives like an old woman with little strength in her right foot, and the fact that I've known/driven/been around that car for almost two years now.
It's got BRAND NEW tires on it, new valve cover gaskets, newer brakes, spark plugs, wires, etc. A/C works great, automatic climate control, power front seats (Both of them), decent leather (needs cleaned), keyless entry, sunroof, fog lights, etc etc etc... The best part? It's MANUAL!
Now the only bad part is the coolant leak, which I'm attempting to track down. Seems like a hose coming off the rear of the motor (or snaking around the back) is causing the problem.
It drives exceptionally well.. Smooth, very quiet... I can actually now see why Brett likes his so much. Who needs perfect paint or intact leather? Who needs a black, gray, or blue interior? **** that, this car may save my bacon!
As for the tax money comment... This is technically a school related expense (Covered under transportation expenses), so.. ha-ha.. funny joke.. ?
Anyways... Did anyone see this coming? Did y'all like my misleading talk about what to do with my refund check? :-P

Anyways... It's been snowing for like two hours. It's sticking to damn everything.. so much for doing stuff with my friends this weekend! lol
Another Maxi Pad? This one paid for by the government?
That's it, I'm joining the Tea Party.
Crit, lunch was delicious. I love that Chinese food. 12A count was 2, the Gray Ghost and the Silver One showed up, along with a boinger (Holly). Let's coordinate the next one for when you are doing business in town.

Accidentally clicked into a Maxima thread?
WTF, is this MaximaClub.com now?
I have no objection to using a Pell grant to buy an old Maxima. From the report, it seems the experience is already proving to be educational!

Hey now hooker. I had payed cash for my tuition, received the Pell grant halfway throughout the semester, and got the cash I had already paid in back. So, mostly graduation money and a little bit of my own money bought my Maxipad
Speaking of that, I put on the grille the other day and it looks worlds better. Pictures soon, for sure.
I do like your Maxima though. It looks good, and the interior isn't too shabby either. Now you see why mine makes me feel like I'm in a Lexus, huh? lol

Wait till it breaks. Like Troy said, it will be educational.
Here's a couple shots from Jefferson, one from yesterday afternoon when it was just getting going:

And some from 6:30 a.m. this morning (Saturday):
