I'm thinking we should do Mike's too

It's taken 25 years to get my hood to look like this. I am not too sure about painting it. Now, carbon fiber could be cool.

i figured out the 0-1-9 by the other thread u started. i think u meant 9-1-9 and hit the 0 by mistake. as for the painted hoods, i was just curious as to it being something that 3 friends just decided they would do and how they came up with what they would paint.

and i'm with mike s, depending on the cost, i would also consider a cf hood. i knew a guy yrs ago that had painted the "rising sun" on the hood of his rx2.

They are the read deal Panasports. If you look closely the front have a weird off set and are a little narrower than the rear. Dad custom ordered them specifically for this car!

Sounds good to me. I didn't even think of keeping track, since I knew Ray was there.

BTW, it is 2 guys and 1 girls. I asked last night and they said they had like 5 extra hoods. They each painted their hoods and installed them, they still have their original hoods to reinstall if they want.

well , the whole story is that it was Juno's birthday and she was having a kinda crappy day. we got out of bed to find that the whole basement was flooded from a bathroom leak, so the whole day started off bad. so that among other things made her kinda sad so me and her were trying to think of fun things to do. anyway, we really had the urge to go vandalize something, but we realized that that was illegal and that if we got caught doing that, the day could get a whole lot worse... so when i thought about what else we could spray paint, i remembered we had 5 extra hoods over at my parents house. so i called Andrew and had him meet us there and then Juno and i went to wal mart and grabbed some spray paint and we met at my house and just started painting. there was no plan... just to paint. and that's how it turned out (i think it was a much better alternative than illegal activities.) we then proceeded to play night frisbee and go to bed. the day turned out pretty well. the end.

ray, i will try to get some pictures up tonight. i'm at the coffee shop right now, so no way to really get them up.

Now that gives me an idea for one of my extra hoods! I need to talk to Cathy, she's the artist in the family.

Hey Holly, people on the non-tech forum are lusting after your poster, is there any way to get copies?

See https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-general-discussion-207/9-1-9-ogta-860877/ for details.

That was a good meet guys.
Kevin, I appreciate the fan clutch. I put it on today and I wasn't able to get the 7 to overheat which used to be a common occurance...
Ray, thanks for all of the advice. I tightened up the wheel bearings today and took care of that extra play.
Also thanks to everyone else for their input. I'm still a little over my head with these rotaries, but I think I have been converted to the dark side.

We missed you last night Colin. We miss all of our college guys... Chris, Brett. We did see Donnie. That is twice in one year, and if we count ZoomFest, maybe 3 times we saw Donnie this year.

We could probably shuttle you around to get to the meeting.
Take MARTA to Chamblee
I pick you up at 6:00PM
Drive you up to Suwanee
Maybe Tim (had the lotus last night) would drive you back to the Doraville MARTA at the end of the night.

Sorry I missed it again as well. My boss had a lot on her mind when she made the schedule so I didn't get the shift I needed to make it. Maybe next month I can contribute my .025 points to the score.

Finally the SE might be out of the shop tomorrow! WOOHOO! After replacing o-rings, gaskets, and de-flooding the engine, they said all it needs are spark plugs (the old ones are fouled due to the flooding), and it'll be set. They said they'd even install the plugs for free if I bring some, so I got O'Reilly to order me 4 NGK plugs, and my car should be back in my possession tomorrow!

Cool Quad, is your hood a candidate for a paint job? Maybe at the next OGTA meeting we can bring some spray cans and have a little art workshop.

Mike if you like the carbon fiber look maybe we can get some of that carbon fiber paint and do yours
