Hey Mike, you can rent tow dollies for $40 at Uhaul, or pay $50 for a 2-axle trailer that'll get the car totally off the ground. I hate Uhaul trucks, but the trailers aren't bad.

I ordered a Holly blue pump with regulator. The regulator has 3/8 ports on it, so I'll need an adapter fitting correct? (or two so that when I pull off the fuel pump I can run the fuel line from the pump and to the carburetor.

Anybody feel like swapping a REPU tranny with me? What a pain in the butt. At least I'll have 5th gear back.

Yes, you will need a 3/8" NPT male to 1/4" NPT male adapter for the gauge. You will need a 3/8" NPT to 3/8" Barb fitting for your fuel line to carb. You will also need a 3/8" NPT 90 degree to 3/8" Barb for the fuel supply line to the regulator.

The hard part will be removing the gauge once done. You will need to un-mount the regulator, unscrew the gauge and then plug the hole with a 3/8" NPT plug.

I can get you the one half of my dry break kit along with all the other fittings you need if you like. I can get them from Mcmaster and have them Tuesday.

This would allow you to plumb the system and used my gauge in the future as well.

Must know before 6PM today in order to get the parts ordered. Roughly looking at $3.00 per adapter with maybe a few more $ for the dry break.

Mike I'm with Crit on the UHaul trailer rental (whether it's the new 7 or the son's 626 that needs to get towed). Get the 2 axle hauler that gets all four wheels off the ground, I've had good luck with that one (if Michelle's Boinger Bus is big enough).

Crit, could you clarify "swapping a REPU tranny" for us? Time, location, do we both need to be under the car at the same time, etc? (you are talking about a car repair, right?)

Well, the truck is in the air now, but it's been raining on and off all day. I've got the 14mm bolts all removed from the bellhousing, the shifter's gone, and I'm working on the driveshaft. Once that's done, I've got to remove the transmission, move the tailshaft to one of my FB transmissions, and reinstall. I'll be back on it tomorrow morning.

Man I just got off work and would have responded on time if I could have. Well the regulator that comes with the pump is wrong, it's 4.5 psi to 9 psi and I need o adjust to around 2.5 psi so I ordered the better regulator(1-4 psi), but made a mistake an ordered the wrong regulator again, I contacted them but they had shipped it already so you can take your time getting the adapters and stuff I need as I want to wait to return my incorrect regulator and will need to order another correct one later, and I'll have some time to spare. So pm your preferred method of payment and the cost of all the fitting I'd need both with and without the dry break and I'll make a call and pony up the cash. Thanks billy, I appreciate the help.

Chris, why not return everything and just go to re-speed? FB guys are cheap, and Billy's worked hard to find good fuel hardware without breaking the bank. Get the regulator with dry-break, maybe borrow a gauge for the time being, and get it done right.

Just a thought.

Haha, wonder who did that

FYI, FB Brett should be there this tuesday. With college and work I might have to skip out on the lake meet if we're short handed, but i'm not entirely sure. I worked 33 hours in a span of 48, and last night I stayed up and was at work all night getting things ready for opening. My first all nighter Yep...

I would have stopped and offered cash for that clunker if you needed parts off of it!

Yeah, Crit's advise is good. I have used the Uhaul tow dolly before with "Michelle's Boinger Bus". I was just checking to see if soneone had a tow dolly, and save the $40.

All I have ordered thus far is a pump and a regulator. Billy doesn't have a regulator or pump on his site, just the gauge which I don't have money for just yet, and a dry break kit that I said I might pay for in a previous post(I think I'll do that). Those are the only two items on his site under fuel systems. I also agreed to buy the fitting and adapters I'll need.

There is absolutely nobody to blame, other than Obama himself.

The FBs are safe, but there are a lot of good parts cars that will get crushed rather than stripped. Cars like the C4 Corvette, where nearly all of them are eligible, will be totally wiped out.

It is ironic. The real clunker is that two year old 4 door pick up truck in the background.

So many problems with that. Whole program bugs me. Just a disguised bailout for the auto industry.

Was happy when it had run out of money. Not happy when they announced they were tripling the budget.
