Old guys with 12As club meeting
#6278
I thought adding that "a" to "Guys" was kind of clever street art. Guys, Gays, Gals, what's the difference? We all own FBs. Well OK the Collin's and Colin's are a little behind on this but they'll catch up eventually.
Chad I would not be able to resist that silver 83 if it was an 84/85 that was fully compatible with my two GSLs, that parts alone make it well worth the investment. Brett, you should snag it, it's the perfect car for your new red machine!
the specs:
1983 GSL silver on black roller with good clean GA title
Stock rims and tires
Will throw in the chrome 5 star rims seen in pics (no rubber)
RB Springs all 4 corners - Under 1k miles
Tokico Blues all 4 corners - Under 1k miles
RB Header
RB Muffler
A Custom Bent Mid pipe (no cat)
New carpet kit - will throw in the car
Also have a set of clean maroon seats I will throw in.
As a roller (no motor,tranny)
$500
Or for $900 Total, you can get the following with the car listed above,
RB Front Sway Bar New- Not installed - will throw in car
RB Tri Strut Bar - Not Installed - will throw in car
A Good Running 12a motor -not installed- needs oil pan gasket and front cover gasket- Leaking
Just a heads up but the parts from racing beat are as follows:
RB Springs -$184
Tokico Blues -$150
RB Header -$250
RB Muffler - $285
RB Front Sway Bar - $135
RB Tri Strut Bar -$298
If somebody from out of state wants to pick it up and Chad can drop it off at my house in Jefferson we can stage it here until transportation can be arranged (I promise not to steal any parts).
Brett I'll be here all day Saturday so come on by when you can (let's not bother setting a time, I know how you guys under twenty have no respect for the clock anyway). Collin you can come by anytime to drop off the light and pick up the jack, I've had it ready for the last two days, out in the driveway in the usual place.
Oh and Chad, there is no way that I could have made the cosmic connection between Felix Wankel's birth date and death date, only people who work for the government and decide how we should do science have access to the powerful programs that work these kinds of things out. This also explains why the CDC is a marvel of efficiency and productivity. Colin, you are truly blessed to share a birthday with the great man himself.

I wish I would've been born into a family with a little bit of money to throw around When I first got the FB I started regretting it since I broke into my college fund a bit, but I've made the money working 4 days for 2 different people so I feel much better about it. I would love that silver one though
So the FC hasn't been driven in 3 days. I'm starting to feel like I've abandoned it. Tomorrow evening I'll have to switch the battery back in it so I can remember what nice suspension and decent power feels like Hahaha, kidding. But not really...
And thanks again for those coil's, Crit. And the ignitors
And... I've got a list going on what the FB needs. If anyone's got anything they want to sell cheap, let me know.
- Decent grey door panels
- Un-cracked and non-chipping Steering wheel (I think a red one would look sweet or something different)
- 2 good drivers and passenger door seals
- A passenger grey visor
- A dome light cover
- A grey drivers door scuff plate (on the bottom, goes over carpet)
- 2 decent grey/ black floormats
- The hinges for the rear bins
- A working set of shocks for the hatch
- The center piece in front of the armrest behind the shifter
- The hatch switch button thing
And now I'm just getting into things I don't really need... Just let me know... Anyone...

Brett, the bin lids are hinged to the bins themselves with plastic integrated hinges. The hinges, lids, and bins are all one piece of injection molded plastic, they are almost all completely broken, and you just need to come to terms with the fact that unless you buy a generic door hinge and drill them into the lids and bins, they just won't ever work out.
A lot of your stuff seems cosmetic, and judging by the fact that you say your FC is so much faster ( it really shouldn't be THAt different given your mod list on the FC, then your FB probably could use a few tips to get her running better before addressing cosmetics.

The reason I'm being like that about cosmetics is because since it's running and it shouldn't take much to get it running good, I want it to look nicer everywhere else. I'm an interior man if you didn't know, so thats what makes me want to fix those little things. It makes me feel better driving it But like I said, I don't want to spend much on them- it's not a huge priority, just something I always notice when I get in the car.
And I'm off to work- I'm swapping batteries so the FC feels some love

Hey guys. How is everything going?
I am about to switch from the dreaded beehive to a front mount oil cooler. I have a spare filter pedestal from a 13B. Does that fit or do I need a 12A specific?
Appreciate in advance

So back on my painting subject. It's just a few interior pieces. I think I'm gonna go the easy route and try that new Krylon Fusion paint. I've heard good things. Anyone have any experience with it?
I've gotten a good how to, but it just seems expensive/time consuming for what it is.

We should do a mountain drive sometime. Had to go to Blue Ridge for work this week. Came home the fun way.

I did a few pieces with the Fusion and it peeled after about 6 months. I went with the Duplicolor interior and got better results. Hasn't peeled or flaked yet.

Chris I finally installed the 77 idle jets. Mine were 75s like you said.
After a very brief test drive, the herky-jerky getting back on the throttle at low RPM has definately gone way down. I'll update you after some more time behind the wheel.
Thanks a lot.

Walked back into the garage and saw the left, rear, side, red, marker light lens sitting on the floor. The screws surrounded by cirlular plastic pedestles were still in-place. The plastic simply broke and the lens fell off. Glad it didn't happen while driving. Looks like it's time for superglue.

I've got that exact same problem Greg, except mine isn't on the floor yet, just got some nasty cracks (I think some water got behind it and froze last winter). I might have some extras, I'll let you know if so.
Ian I kind of like the bee hive oil coolers, they just look super cool. So I'm afraid I can't be much help on the migration to the front mounted one (unless you need a home for the old bee hive).
