Sometimes it's hard to following the discussion with the mods deleting entire posts without notice or explanation. Some of those guys think they are God.

Ray, I'm not as confused as you....I think what Colin is saying is that the 12a's couldn't handle what the 13b could up in the mountains...which is false, I'm sorry to tell you Colin.. The last OGTA mountain run I attended, Ray's 12a FB absolutely out dragged Grace up a hill.

Spoken like a true rotorhead Collin!

Actually I'm not confused at all, I know that 12A's rule, no matter what the evidence. I was just making a statement about the mods, who use the same kind of logic to freely edit posts on this forum to their liking.

Kinda spoils all the fun, don't you think?

I'd tell you Crit but if I did I'd have to kill you or risk getting banned from the site.

I hate to seem unpatriotic, but like they say in Texas, maybe it's time we had some conversations about secession.

I just registered for Zoom-Fest. Can't wait. Should be a lot of fun, but I'm unsure if the SA will last through the PDX sessions.

I could do it in my daily 5-spd Altima, but that would seem un-patriotic. Not only would it be a non-Mazda, but a boinger to boot. Plus it's wrong-wheel drive.

Anybody know where I could get a rental Mazda?

j/k

Man that SA would make a nice summer project for OGTA Andy, we could get her dressed up and ready to go for Zoomfest, maybe add some conservative upgrades. Sounds like a good project for the July meeting, wrap it on the weekend.

'Course we will need to assume the video rights, OGTA's Official Mint SA, for advertising purposes.

You are right, the Altima is un-patriotic, non-Mazda, totally wrong wheel drive and, (gasp...gasp...., ****) a boinger.

How could you even imagine such a thing??

for those that don't check the crossroads thread. i got dyno'd. i think i took best RT but i left shortly after 2 and there was a tacoma getting on the dyno. don't remember what the guy said was the reason for the erratic torque curve. did better than i expected tho. and had i noticed it i'd had they guy reprint with the right vehicle on it.

Chris, see if you can't find a motor-less FB in better shape than one that might run and drive, and you can borrow my hoist to put a new motor in. I'm sure Ray has one he could sell you lol

Which, btw Ray, if you ever need the use of a hoist, I'm just down the road from you and it'd probably fit in your FB provided we leave the glass up a bit.

Thanks for the offer on the lift Collin, that would be nice to have next time I pull a motor. The last two I did by jacking the car up and dropping the connected motor and tranny on the ground, not very sophisticated but it works.

I gave up my two spare 12As a couple years ago to Stu, along with my plans to do a rebuild. I've discovered there's no point in having a spare 12A, since 12As never die.

Chis have you checked with that guy in Greenville who's always listing FB's? I don't know who it is or if he has anything worthwhile but he does list stuff all the time, here's a few recent ones:

Jun 4 - Mazda RX-7 & RX-8 Parts... - (greenville)

Jun 19 - 1987 MAZADA RX7 - $1000 - (greenville) pic <<cars & trucks - by owner

Jun 16 - **1991 MAZDA RX7 CONVERTIBLE** - $3500 - (greenville) pic <<cars & trucks - by owner

Jun 14 - 1985 mazda rx7 race car rolling chassis - (greenville) pic <<cars & trucks - by owner

Jun 11 - 1984 Mazda RX-7 GSL - $500 - (greenville) pic <<cars & trucks - by owner

May 27 - 1983 Mazda RX-& - (greenville) <<cars & trucks - by owner

Did anybody know this guy Tom Thrash? Really sad to lose him, he looks like a prime example of the 1st gen spirit

Ray finally dynoed my car this weekend. It was great seeing Micheal make the trip
up from Spartansburg, now if we can just get some guys from georgia to come up
next time.

My car did what I expected it too given my mods.

Well my cousin KArl and I found him a car. He is now a proud new owner of a 1983 Solar Gold Rx-7 GSL. It is perfect. It is completely mechanically sound in every way. All electrical accessories work except the interior lights and he only paid 1 grand for it. Starts, runs, drives well, it just needs new brakes.

I need to take pics myself but here are the pics from the ad it was in:
