Old guys with 12As club meeting
That'd be great John, is this going to be an SA, FB, C, D or what? Can't wait to see what you've got, yours would be at least the third new 7 at the Jan 8 get together.
We Atlanta folk need two dual alternator pulley's and if you have those nuts that go on top of the tokico shocks Mike sure would be very happy. He's been in a funk ever since discovering that the stock nuts don't fit the ones he bought on ebay. Most of us carry cash.
I'm working on a business card scheme for OGTA for y'alls consideration, will post shortly.
Happy New Year!

John, it's time to get a new calendar, January 8, 2008 falls on a Tuesday, not a Thursday.
OGTA normally meets the first Tuesday of each month, but last Tuesday was New Year's Day we are meeting on Tuesday Jan 8 this time.
Here's a mapquest:

Hope to see you! (It's not a Honda, is it?).

I am in a better mood now. I was able to "machine" the strut body nuts myself. I am using the word "machine" loosely. I am not sure you can call a 3/8" Craftsman drill and a step up bit machining. It did cost me $120 in bits, but they seem to work.
Having springs and shocks that actually work is a real treat.

We understand the problem for people traveling long distances for the monthly Tuesday meetings, the Jeffrey's events are really meant for locals to get together after work on a monthly basis (although Stu seems to be an exception, he often comes down from the Carolina's to visit).
But Mike and Greg came up with the brilliant idea of meeting on Saturdays from time to time. The first was on Dec 8 and was a lot of fun, we should be having another Saturday meet early next spring, maybe connected to the Mountain Run.
dregg100, sorry I got you name wrong, John is the banzaitoyota guy, right? And John keep you calendar, it should work fine.
Mike, nice work on the strut nuts, good to see you putting that Master's Degree to work ($120 in bits vs $5 for the original part. Satisfaction of doing it yourself, Priceless). Bring a wrench so we can take one apart and see what they look like.

Dammit, dammit, DAMMIT! I just got the call that I'll be in Tennessee from the 7th through the 10th. I just might park the SE at Jeffrey's just to prove that it exists and WILL BE RUNNING in time for the meet.
Dammit.
John, if you do come out I'll gladly pony up for a pair of double pulleys for the FB and the S122A.

Are you still having trouble, Mike? If you ever have similar problems with hardware, you can always try www.mcmaster.com, as they have several of every nut and bolt known to man. They'll deliver same-day via courier in Atlanta (sometimes they'll courier instead of UPS) and are located on Fulton Industrial if you're really in a pinch.
Once i fix whatever i broke already i will
Got a set on there finally. not the integra's, but some 15" rotas i got from a friend of mine.
Well fellas. I broke it already (the first gen). I was trying to start it Monday and it was being quite stubborn. After about 15 minutes teh battery was getting weak so i quit for a few minutes. It would start but only run for 10-20 seconds and any gas would killl it.
So i went at it again, and while turning it over my hand slipped, so i recoiled out of instinct ot keep it going, and when it turned over again it just made a nasty click and died. So now, when i try and start it, as soon as it goes from "on" to "start" it clicks and i lose all power...
Time for a 13b already....
Any suggestions? To get power back i have to move the neg. battery terminal or remove and put it back on, but as soon as i try and start the car it loses power again. Tried roll starting her on a pretty good hill. just isn't happening.

It's not broken, man, just a bad connection. You don't have intimate contact on the battery - you're basically touching with a tiny little contact area. As soon as you try to pull all that current with the starter, you burn up that tiny section that it touching, as if it were a fuse, and you lose your connection.
Because you're able to start all over by repositioning the terminal, it's nothing but a bad connection. You can get a wire-brush thingy at AutoZone or Walmart that will have a male brush for cleaning your leads and a female brush for cleaning the posts. Clean them both really well, tap the terminal down on the post with a rubber mallet or something to make sure it's well-seated, tighten your screw, and you'll be in business.

Given the importance of the Official Jeffrey's Unvaling of Crit's new SE, plus Austin's recent troubles with his new car, should we reschedule the January meeting for Tuesday Jan 15?
Austin it sounds like:
A) it's flooded, and
B) you now have a starter problem from cranking on it soo much, either a weak battery or bad battery connection (most likely ground).
Check your battery connections (best to just redo them) and put the battery on a charger.
Then pull the plugs, if they are wet you need to start the deflooding procedure.
I hope you have a nice warm garage to work in. I don't, mine's flooded too, man it's cold out there.
Edit: Yeah, like Crit said.

Austin, we've all had loose terminals that made a popping sound, then were useless until they're jiggled again. All you need is a good connection at the posts, and it sounds like they just need to be cleaned and tightened.
OK guys, let's chill the gossip, we need to decide whether to put off this month's meeting from Jan 8 to Jan 15 so that Crit can attend with his new SE.
Sounds like a good idea to me, I'll be done with a teaching block by then and don't have to work the next day.

I... Should.... be there!! (15th)
Picking up new terminals tonight as i seem to have procrastinated into oblivion yesterday. I'll let you guys know this weekend what happened, since it will be Saturday before i can work on it in the daylight.

*edit* Hey Crit if you need any help with the SE this weekend, don't be afraid to holler. I can hold wrenches and stuff. Occasionally i actually turn one too!

Actually, a buddy and I are working on the car Saturday. It looks like I can have it running, but it needs the condenser laid back in the core support, the radiator fitted, fan put back, and some work on the interior - maybe set the idle too if she's running well. I'll PM you with the address and contact info.
