I would have been there but I had to go to ATT and deal with some bullshit just to get my Iphone replaced. It took for ******* ever to get a new one. It made me miss the meet which really pissed me off.

The customer claimed there was a cat in the road and her swerved to hit it, upon swerving he hit the front wheel on the curb and then the back wheels hit too, the car then went up the curb and got completely fucked. The under carriage is fucked as well as the wheels and the front bumper and side skirt. The diffuser where the exhaust comes out is completely fucked. I literally walked over to the back wheel and grabbed the strut and shook it around, it is unconnected from the whole wheel assembly. We have now way to get it into the shop right now, we might have to forklift it into the garage. As of now I think its totaled, the lotus tech thinks it has a small chance to be saved.

Ouch. My guess is that Lotus is totalled. Downside to those cars is they can't take hits like that. Where the suspension mounts to the frame is not officially fixable if damaged, since the aluminum is too thin to weld and the parts are glued to the frame. The key word there is officially though. Someone will probably put it back together in a non-approved way. Unless they got really lucky somehow and the connections aren't damage. Sad though.
That R8 is gorgeous. I really like them. Not a fan of the red though.

Holly some guys on the 1st gen non-technical forum are having a hard time figuring out what "preproduction" means, could you help them out? Go to near the end of this post:

Thanks!

The R8 was pretty cool, it was a very smooth drive.
I prefer the silver though, the all red doesnt have the same effect on me as the two tone style does.
Tim, hopefully we trash that Lotus when we are done with it so no one can put it back together like you talked about.

I hope so too. It's scary how many of them get patched up and then sold as "minor damage, totalled by insurance for some unknown reason" to a buyer who doesn't realize that the whole suspension could rip out of the frame when loaded up due to a halfass repair.

That's my 500 dollar bargain we got last year. I use it every day. 200 miles a day It used to be white, I fixed a bunch of light rust and removed the pinstripes and moldings. Then just gave it 1 coat of black epoxy primer to stay off rust until I go Matte black I think with the entire car. It's a great car, needs a steering upgrade though... Maybe another trip to the RE-SPEED website to look at some

that's awsome!!
Got the FD running the other day. Went back out today to cycle it thru a full heat cycle. It sounds nasty!! It doesn't want to take throttle though as I believe it needs a new map for the ECU to compensate for the porting. It pops and spits unburnt fuel if you try to rev it off idle. Getting there.

So...
I'm in Virginia right now...in some random hotel... about half a mile from where my dad's truck sits.
The transmission went!
Yep..was cruising along and all the sudden fourth gear is NO MORE! Trans fluid is brownish and burnt smelling... Fabulous.
It's a 2007 with 28k. Speaks volumes for GM quality, eh?
Basically, it's still under warranty...so yeah...stuck here in randomville Virginia until WEDNESDAY!
