And new guy Sal, who drove the friggin' chevy from Tampa just to be here. If it had been a rotary it would have been a new distance record:
New guy Larry and his spotless immaculate brand new 'vert:
What Larry really wants:
New guy Alex and his highly modified FC:
New gal Juno's new FB (which strangely enough has SE wheels, but a Nikki carb, which makes it an FB):

On my way home there was a road block at the new exit off of 985 onto atlanta highway. It was less than 1/4 mile to my house. I couldnt even see there was a road block, it just looked like a cop had someone pulled over. I finally saw the cop standing in the middle of the road when I was 100-200 feet from him. Lucky for him I drive slow.
When I stopped he smarted off to me and said, " youre lucky this piece of junk has brakes." I started off with, "hey!" But luckily I stopped myself before I said anything else. Kim said she just closed her eyes when she heard him say that and heard my response. She thought it was going to get worse.
He was cool after that, but right before he let me go another cop walked up and mentioned my window tint. They tested it, and it was 17%. So, I got a freaking ticket. Oh well.
While I waited for them to write the ticket I counted 10+ cop cars sitting in the intersection.
This ticket better not be expensive!

Thanks for driving the rental over to meet us Sal. Maybe you can make it again, if you are working in ATL the 1st Tuesdays of the month.

So Sabine's new heart is in, and I got it to start beating. She wouldn't fire right away...it took many attempts of fooling with the fuel pump switch I rigged up before she'd cough into life. Not sure what's going on there, could have just been a gummy fuel system or whatever.. Anyways, once she was alive again I took her out for a drive. The vibrations that get worse as the revs build are caused by the motor mounts which are both in a piece or two...that much is obvious. However, it seems there's still a good lack of power. What I'm thinking is that the aux ports aren't opening. While I was swapping over things like the LIM and whatnot the sleeves were removed and cleaned to ensure free movement... but that doesn't guarantee they're opening properly. Going to do the grease test tomorrow. If they move, I'm not sure where I'll be at... If they don't, I'll stick them open and go for another drive to see if there's a difference. All of this rides on whether or not she fires properly in the morning.. something the old motor wouldn't do (start cold).
In light of all of this I'm very happy the car is back in one piece and I got to drive her...it felt so nice. Also hoping to test the speedo tomorrow against GPS and see what's up. Maybe I'm nuts about the speedo reading WAY too fast but eh, maybe not.
Yeah...so...yeah... just unsure. Hoping for the best though!

Had fun, nice beig with the gang. Thanks for the helpful advice Billy.
Donnie, it would have been sooo hard for me to keep my mouth shut to that officer. Would it be illegal to say "Too bad your patrol cars has brakes too." or "This piece of junk can rape your cruiser."

Guys and Holly, I had a great time meeting everyone. You really know how to make a guy feel welcome. I even learned a few things about my FC3C. I look forward to seeing everyone again and meeting other RX-7 owners.

Wow I just noticed something, Mike washed his car. Looking good Mike, that's the first time in two years isn't it?
Sorry about that ticket Donnie and Kim, that stretch of 85/885/316 is the most heavily patrolled part of 85. Those Gwinnett police stay busy. That's where I got stopped one predawn morning, I got a drill sargent lecture about cutting in in front of him without a turn signal, speeding, reckless driving and "getting killed in that little car", but he let me off with a warning. Now I use turn signals in that part of town.
The May meeting had a great turnout! Thanks to Larry and Sal for dropping in from Florida and Alpharetta, it's great to see so many out of staters show up (et tu next time Michael?).
Colin nice work on Sabine, be good to have her back in the line up.
Brett post up those pictures! Any others out there let's see them!
