I used a relay and a switch. I can get the wiring for you if you would like. It has power all the time, but only turns on when I flick the switch. There is also a way you can tie it into the sensor in the back of the water pump and use that as a thermo switch.

Well the collective wisdom on the Gray Ghost is not encouraging. I think I will try a good Sea Foam marinade. Maybe one of the seals is just stuck and I can free it up.
If that does not work, I may be in the market for a low milage car. This could get really difficult to manage with CEO. She is already lobbying for something like a 626 with automatic transimission.

Buy my protege
But seriously, Protege's are very fun and reliable cars, you can pick them up for pretty cheap now too, since the 3 has been out. There is also the Mazdaspeed Protege... but it is the same price as the Mazdaspeed Miata.

For my e-fan, i used a 3.8 liter taurus fan. I can pull up the wiring if you'd like. Low speed is controlled by a thermostat in the radiator. You can get that set up from advance or autozone cheap. My high speed is done through a relay to a switch on my console. This works better for A/C or after getting done a track session. Low speed alone handles all normal driving stuff.

Hey Billy, did Helen Keller take those pictures? You should get ones of maybe... the whole car? Just kidding. Get better pictures though!
I used the rest of my weekend off to play with my car. I washed it decently this morning, went to a meeting at work and got bitched out for
'making fun' of my manager (which I wasn't, I was being myself and she's just on the rag...), came home and ran some power to my
'dog house-parts shed', changed my rear brake pads, re-painted all my calipers red because I like them that way, wiped down everything
under the hood, and made my springs shine I photochopped this afterwords...
And now school tomorrow to sit in the same boring class for 3 hours straight while juniors take graduation tests.
And oh yeah, Tuesday's my 18th birthday!

So Rat is my new name on the forum, that's cool, easier to type anyway.
That's a nice buggy you got there Billy but like Brett says, can you back up just a bit and get some whole body shots?
Glyphon I have a good cat replacement pipe for a 12A (84/85), not sure if this would work for the SE. I was going to hold onto this in case I need to go back to cats someday, but doesn't seem likely so $50 and it's yours.
Welcome back Kevin!
Mike, how's the car?

thanks ray. i just may take you up on that offer
just to be sure we are on the same page about the part, the piece i'm looking for is #2, although if your pipe replace #1 & #2, that would work just fine as well.

The bonez race pipe replaces all three cats, here's a photo:
See details here:
http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/saexhaust.html
I see they list a different pipe for the 13B models, or at least it costs $10 more, so I'm not sure it will work for you (Crit would know). Basically the unit bolts directly to the stock exhaust manifold and to the cat back exhaust pipes, it's nice because you can quickly change back and forth between having cats or just a replacement pipe.

ah, ok. that's not going to work for me because i need the main cat to get the car to pass emissions to register it. and the exhaust that's on the car currently has a midpipe welded to the #2 pre, so i can't use the existing #2 pre.
i'd guess that the difference in units for the 12a vs 13b is the pipe on the side of the cat/midpipe to open the extra ports.
guess i'll just take the welded up unit to a muffler shop, have them cut the pre off and weld a new mounting flange on the end of it.
if you still got it in a few months, i might take it off your hand

I have a custom catalytic converter. It fits a 12A between an RB header and the tail pipe. It has fresh air tube to attach to the air pump and has the appropriate mounting flanges on each end. This has about 10 hours on it. I have used for the past 5 years to pass emissions. I also have about 12" of exhaust pipe tubing to go with it. I know you have 13B. But, if you are interested, you can probably have this fabbed into a cat that will sit between the stock exhaust manifold on a 13B and the tailpipe. I'm asking $50 for it.

Mountain Drive Redo
Trying to get consensus on a date for a drive is about as difficult as I thought it would be. Here are the results.
Date Count
4/4........3
4/5*......4
4/11......4
4/18**...1
4/25**...1
***
* Not one of the original choices. Suggested by Dave and got some support.
** Not one of the original choices. But, were added to the list
*** Some dates in May were added, but I left them off.
Got votes from the follownig (sorry if I could not match the your screen name with you first name):
Tim (GA)
Ray
Brett
Iheartthewankle
Dave
Holly
Larry
Stu
87turboII
Greg
Mike
The most popular dates are 4/5 and 4/11. 4/5 is a Sunday and would include a trip to Dave's NC mountain house. 4/11 is a Saturday and would most likely be a North GA run.
Let's try this one more time... Who wants to/can go on 4/5 and who wants to go on 4/11. I'll total up the results on Thursday morning and get it back out to everyone. Whatever comes out of that will be the final results. In the event of tie, Ray's goats will cast the deciding vote.
Ray, you can teach them to use the computer, right?

That'd be perfect for the Red One Kevin, easiest fastest fuel saving power gaining upgrade of all time. She's yours!
I am kind of attached to her, she was my first mod! She's served on the Tan One (twice), the Brown One and the White One until I put the RB system in and she hardly looks used. Good to know she's going to a good home.
