So what were the numbers?

Great Turnout yesterday!..

Nice to see alot of the Hardcore 7 fans out in a group. It was nice,
and without self-inflicted drama. Even when sharing the dyno with the GTO group - It was peaceful.

That being said...

Those of you that did get "Kan" tuned:
Official List:

S. Alvarez
Simon & Mark
R Evanson
D. Bern
J. Castleberry
Frank (Kandela)

Standby list:

1. Gio (sinister7)
2.Chris (Rotorlution)
3.Bader (BeNO)
4.orlando (danameisoj)
What were you impressions of the tuning? Does the car feel better? Smoother? More power? Did you pop your engine? (I know there was one casualty)

Inquiring minds want to know...

I know the numbers had to be affected by the massive heat and humidity,
but - What were the final power levels and at what amount boost?

My car is smoother, has more torque(I forgot to get my printout), still bucks a little under deceleration, but after spending more than $7K on new turbo setup and fuel system(woops I forgot to get a good fuel pump) 360hp is upsetting to me since it's basically what I had with my last setup(TO4S and 1300 secondaries), the good news is all I need is a new fuel pump(which I already ordered), I already have the higher rise exhaust manifold and DP from A-spec sitting in my garage, and Steve said I need to change my racing beat catback, (so I need to find a better cat back that looks stock) and I think that will make up for the 40HP I want. The bad news is I can't put it on until Steve comes back so lets get the ball rolling on another Steve Kan group tuning session. I'm in!
....also it was nice to meet new people and see old people, thanks to Mark for helping me hardwire my fuel pump, and sorry to Mark because he was the above mentioned "casualty", and thanks to everyone who helped out and to Luis(aka Dragon) for picking up lunch for me and helping me out. And thanks to Steve!

366 AT 16 PSI Car feels lot smoother. Well worth the tuning. Still need to take the 390 gears off and get the 430's on bigger secondaries since i only have 1100's an d slap on the HKS twin pak ignition. There was an awesome turnout of rotorheads and the best part no f@#$%^ DRAMA.

305rwhp SEA but corected only showed a slight difference, I know there were some dyno issues at first(on top of the high humidity), Steve was certain that my setup would make 350's but I guess that I will have to try again. I did go back home and change my intercooler pipes(had a Greddy elbow, t'bolts and bigger piping laying around, but my work schedule had been to hectic for me to install till then) and came back late, the car felt even better after this but then again it could have been the fact that it was cooler at night. Steve went for a ride with me and added more fuel because I was knocking after my changes and he said the car felt good although I may have to change my intercooler.

Thanks to all. Steve, Simon and every body else.. And my condolences ! Even though i didn't get mine dynoed :S for stupid air sensor which had me to stay til 4 am after i left to figure it out. anyway....

the heat and humidity was realy a killer for our cars. I actually expected alot of the cars would get alot more HP on thier set up.
It was very plesent meeting Steve and Personally I like the fact that he gives advises and not like the others who just car about "tunning" the car even though they know you need to fix it and they also know you will break it later.

THANK YOU STEVE.

and dafinatly will try to have another tunning sesstion. I'm in too.

great meating you guy

my final numbers were 388.9 Hp and 333.4 Tq. @ 16psi. steve wanted to go for more but considering i was right after the "casualty" i was happy with that. steve is a great tuner. car feels great under normal driving conditions and even better under boost.

it was good turn out of rotary heads and big thanks should also go to Stephan at Cartek for allowing the place to stay open until 1AM. Also big thanks to Damian for staying with us til 1AM....................all on his day off from work!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah it was a late night....especially operating on about 3hrs sleep from the nite before....lol. But it was cool. I figured better to get everything over with as opposed to coming back on sunday. Good to hear everyone was basically happy with their outcome...despite the heat.

yeah I think soneone should PM me if new thread starts for Steve to come back, I know it will take a while for him to come back into town, and I heard Crispeed only tunes what he builds is that correct?- I have to PM him about that. But in the meantime I have all the parts already that I plan on changing, and now I am thinking about maybe having my engine re-ported, I am very dissappointed in my low numbers especially the low torque #s

my suggestion would be to try and get him down in December some time. that way the temp will be a bit more forgiving. i can help arrange it if you guys need. dyno wise, i really liked the service and flexability of Cartek and think we should do there, unless the majority of you disagree.

I prefer to tune in the middle of the summer heat, danger is my middle name...j/k
I asked Steve when he was coming back and I think he said feb. or march, not sure but definitely after december he said. A few people were complaining about the dyno(I was just listening, I dont know about the differences between dynos..so I had no complaints) and I know for SURE I would have liked it to be at Pettit, if it was, I would have been able to buy a new fuel pump and install it then, also I know someone needed injector o-rings, and someone else could have used an air intake temp unit, and a waterpump pulley and a few other things, all which would have been available at Pettit or really any other rotary specific place that might have 3rd gen parts laying around. I just think it would be more convenient because stuff always goes wrong(I'm surprised something didnt break on my car), but thats just me.

Thumbs up

yeah you are right.. Lets try and have it in a place where they have a Rotary parts that would be more Convinete to all of us..

So Sofar there are 4 the would like to have thier car tuned and i just hang up from talking to Steve and he said the his schadual is pretty full right now. He MIGHT be able to do it by the end of the year. ( Thats a long time to wait :S ) anyway.. January or Feb. would be allright with him.

I'm Going to start new Thread for Tunning!
