andre just bought himself a new toy......... hehehe
I picked up a 88 turbo 2 rx today, i really didnt wanna spend the money, but i was going to buy a t2 engine anyway, why not an entire car for cheap. it only has 118000 miles on it, and susposedly was drivin to where its at, last year. the old man who owned it was killed in a bike accident in january so it was just hurting his wife to look at it any longer. so im taking it off her hands. its got a good set of S5 tails, and vert seats. it even has the factory radio installed!! this car is un- mo- lested!! but man o man is it filthy! i can tell its been sitting in the bushes for a while. it looks like someone welded cherry bombs in the back lol the exaust looks like complete crap. lol but oh well, im just gonna turn it into a GTU with my verts engine and drivetrain, and convert my vert to a turbo 2 vert. hehehehe may the fun begin....

yep, I'll have to talk to him again. It's been a month or so, but he told me to look for a FB, preferably a gsl-se to start off with for the project.

I just went and gave him your number. He is still intrested in getting one and I told him that for what his plans are this is a GREAT car to start with, as it has all the needed and "desired" parts. If you sell it to him you owe me a tank of fuel in the FD, Or a case of Idimetsu oil

Dave, that new chrome paint I heard you mention earlier, will it work on plastic? Like interior trim stuff. I have a very small project in mind.

Not sure Tim, I have only seen it on the roof of a car However, Dupont makes a nice chrome trim paint. Dupli-color line. Sold at autozone and the likes. Auto-zone has the best selection of touch up paints trim paints etc..

Cory get rid of that gsl se and get mine. You will still come out with $400+. I just talked the the guy that was looking at the SA, and we are going to square up, and Im going to give him his deposit back. So as is I want to get $600 for it. It is a beautiful car, and interior is COMPLETE. The carb is rebuilt, and rats nest removed and the intake have stainless block off plates, and its got a new battery. It has the header from the parts car with new gasket. IT just needs a exhaust made from the header back and a little TLC

$600

Shes road worthy right now. I went for a test drive this past weekend to make sure the front wheels wouldnt rub the fenders....anyone notice the 3 piece work wheels there? Im prolly just going to flat black the whole car so that when I bash the front bumper on something the repairs will be easy

Do you have any more pics of that widebody? Looks pretty good so far. Big thanks to Long for bringing me the S5 trans. I know now why the S5 trans is not the the desired swap into a first gen. The S5 trans has an internal balancer on the output shaft. So swapping the first gen tail shaft can't be done. The only thing that can be swapped is the shifter assembly. That means I had to make a transmission mount. So I made a solid trans mount. That works fine for me. Goes with the solid motor mounts I still don't know if I will run it on the dyno.
