Cory, I would sell you the engine for $1600 and throw a SA in for free Dave I'm glad the FB is running good now. Did you have to do anything else to the carb? You still need to bring that thing by and let me take a look at it. If anybody has an old crotch rocket they would want to trade for the SA, I would be interested.

 

Haven't done any tuning other than the accelerator pump. It has a hesitation transfering onto the secondaries at any throttle input usually. Also a lean spot when backing off right before the transition. Just haven't messed with it yet. too busy. It is fun to drive. Totally different than the other 2.

As for the SA, My buddy wants a 1st gen again badly. He has a YZF600R( Not a R6) We stripped it of plastic due to a incident. Everything is pretty straight. I'll see if he is still intrested and give him your number or whatever.

Anyone have a 2-1 collector laying around by chance???

That would be awesome if you brought your FD BigIslands. I wouldn't be the only one anymore. Hell, just having another Rotary car there would be great! Oh, and I forgot to mention. The first 10 people to get to the BK and order $5 in food or more and show the receipt to the guys in charge of organizing the meet on Tuesday night will be given a $5 gift card to Autozone or some place like that. Thats almost a quart of oil or something. God knows I use about a quart every couple weeks as much as I drive my single.

Last time ShawnK came out and brout Joel( FD is down currently for awhile.) But we are trying to motivate him to get on it again. I need some company.

Yeah buddy. I brought it to the Tuesday night meet so you could see it, but I'll bring it to the next Tuesday meet if you are going to be there. No hurry man. Not really at least. You have until the middle of October. Hope things are going well for you Josh. I heard they shut down the UNCC meet for good now. I was about to go tonight until I heard some of my friends got turned away by the cops.

Hey Sean, Sorry I didn't make it out today. I slept till 1( Never happens as I don't sleep much) And then I started working on the FB and fabbing a collector for the header. Then fabbing the exhaust. Gave up at 9 due to burning my eyes with the wekder after all day welding up mock up pieces and such. Gotta drive the fast car tomorrow!!
I'll see if I can swing out tomorrow, otherwise I'll just talk to you at the meet tuesday.

 

Let me know when you are welding again. Even if I just stand around, I love to learn. I plan on being a welder... anything I can learn now can help me later

Well, I finished welding up the collector, and extension pipe to the muffler. It now exits under my seat facing towards the front left edge Oh Yeah, freakin ghetto fabuloso! Anyways, Almost all exhaust leak at the header is gone The car has a mean growl to it now at idle. Also most all of the hesitation has been cured by the header it seems. Maybe a combo of the header and new gasket?

Still get a good sonic boom on the down rev.pretty freakin loud out my side I need to figure out how to loud video from my digi cam..

Its on there good. I heated it with a torch for about an hour and kept hitting it with my 1/2 inch impact, but no go. So I sat it up on the flywheel and put a pool of PB blaster around the nut and I'm letting that soak. Maybe I'll get back out there today and try it again.

Now that Ray has guessed my project, I'll stay out of the OGTA thread so we can keep our posting lead.

On a related note. Has everyone noticed that we post in the OGTA thread and we go down to their meets? When are we going to see some of the OGTA crew come up here for a Xroads meet? I'm just putting it out there.
