Mike, that sux! I thought that clutch was rated for like 650 to 700hp? That 6 puck should be awesome.

well they rate it by torque, 598lbs. Not sure why but I have heard of a few others with issues and a few with none. I cant say I broke it in 100% by the book but I never went wot atleast with any amount of boost till 1500 miles +.
Either way I will be putting in the 6 puck soon. I think I will hate the unsprung setup. But atleast it will hold 7500rpm launches!!!

Cool video. Where were you making those runs?
BTW, speaking of Mustangs, there's a guy I work with that has a 96 GT (NOS or S.C. or both) that he claims will eat any Import alive... he knows nothing about rotary cars and keeps saying I don't stand a chance because my engine is only half of his (thinks RX is a 4 cylinder). It's funny to hear him talk sh*t about a car he knows nothing about and how he will line up in the 1/8th and wave bye-bye as he dumps the clutch @ 5k

what does he run in he 1/8th? I have scene some badass mustangs around with sc's and nos but I have also scene and raced some slow ones. I ran 2 SC'ed mustangs at the track and beat both back when I was on the stock twins. Also raced one on Drake and beat him as well on twins. But dont get me wrong, there are a few around that ARE fast. I should have no problems running in the high 6's if you want to talk **** to him!

Oh, the runs were on your moms street!!! Down towards toyota plant in front of that church.

I think he's into the 8's. His stang is nothing special. Burgundy GT with skinnies up front, tiny offset rears, very loud exhaust, but not much as far as looks go. He thinks he has built a true winner because he's beat a '06 GTO, 350z, and a lot of "Imports" as he puts it. I told him if he wants a challenge right now since mine is not running, I have a buddy who has the exact same car I have (well, sort of ) who goes to the dragstrip on occasion. Say the word and I'm sure he will line up his Import against you.
It's amazing how little he knows about the 7 but insists it's no competition for American muscle. He even asked me if I had done any head work or stroked my engine.

He said when he hits his button, he will roll down the window, stick his hand out and wave bye-bye while I'm waiting for my turbo to spool up.

Thanks Brian.. Shitty thing is that clutch and flywheel disk are only 3k miles old! I will give you a buzz soon to catch up. Motor feels good and seems to be holding up. (for now) if I can keep from turning the boost up so often it should last awhile..LOL But half or for bridge is in my future!

Don, I am not much for **** talking. There are guys like that around every corner.

Nice Mike!

Well, my Cobra is fast but I honestly believe that it is pretty much dead even with my "old" 7...and everyone knows that my FD was stock twins. I don't see how I could keep up with Mike for anything. He's got 100 more rwhp and weighs 2000lbs less! Even if I put a shot of NOS on mine and brought to the 550rwhp I would think that it would still be very close due to weight. I say Don's co-worker is going to have to have a 600rwhp Mustang that hooks before he can keep up with a 500+rwhp FD.

He probably has no more than 350 rwhp with NOS. I honestly don't think it's S.C. because they tend to have a distinct "whine" to them and the only whine it has is the bad bearing in the electric fan.

Yes, I was all ready to go that route. I went ahead and posted a thread to see what others in this power range doing drag racing were using and came up with many doing the 6 puck ACT and holding well. So I bought one and we will see..

Merry Christmas to everyone. Hope you all have a great holiday season!

That's the same clutch I'm going to be putting in as well. I've had an unsprung 6-puck w/ heavy duty pressure plate (ACT) for 8 1/2 years in my car. It's finally dying. Can't load it out past 9-10psi on this new motor/turbo setup!

Went to a larger turbocharger (sold the 60-1HIFI and put on a Master Power T70 - it had a 1.32 A/R P-Trim on it but I changed it off for a 0.96 A/R since the 1.32 was too laggy), balanced rotating assembly, clearanced rotors, new apex seals and solid corner seals (all 3mm), new springs, etc. That and I changed out the M15 alcohol nozzle with an M10 and added another M10. Still stock top mounted IC.

It's a Master Power T70 compressor -- the wheel diameters are 2.720" (69mm) minour and 3.584" (91mm) major. I guess you're right! (Just calc'd it and converted to metric)

I hope it makes some good power in its 20's. It put 481 to the wheels on an FC w/ a partial bridge on it a couple years back. I inhereited the turbo from a buddy of mine that had it on his car for a few thousand files. It sounds real good.

What's the specs of the one on your car Mike?
