i am guessing the motors is on the last legs.... plus the stuff he says in the thread... even still you could easily buy and fix it then sell it for some $$$ gain.

It has a rebuild with 35k on it. My guess is that it's blown. Probably still a good deal for the work in it though.

Wow, the other red FD is owned by a Clint too? That is my name as well...

Sounds like a pretty good deal on the other one. You never get near as much out as you put into them. I would imagine that the rebuild is probably suffering. If he is only running 9psi with a single and FMIC, I would guess it is so the motor does not completely go. Even if you rebuild and port it a bit, you could have a sweet ride for a decent amount.

But I am not going to tell you all how little I stole mine for! It was bone stock and the paint was peeling, but it only had 49,000 original miles (58,000 now).

Perhaps a silly question but are the cats' heatshields (the bottom ones) nescessary? One fell off today on the interstate and I didn't go back for it.. It would probably be a fruitless adventure anyhow. Needless to say I'm having other problems too.

Yeah, It may just be the no low-end torque or it maybe something else. When going on a long interstate up-hill grade the car uh, bogs? well maybe not bogs but it starts slowing down and yeah sure lets say it bogs. No maybe has little or no power would be a better way. I'll be going 3k and it'll start coming down.. so I have to give it more fuel which is doesn't really respond to. Also, I can hear a very audible gas (not fuel) leak.. Now I'm quite sure it's my exhaust leak (AFIAK I need a new gasket between the manifold and cats). Since the gasket it gone would you think maybe my cats are clogged? I havn't really been able to inspect anything due to weather, schedule, and lack of knowledge. I need to also check my TPS and BAC because my idling problem and fuel consumption. Which BTW, going to Kingsport and back I got 23mpg @ 80mph. I think I usually get 18ish @ 90mph+.

I just need more time, money, and help and I'll have this car fixed. Then on to paint and interior. Then the ladies will flock!

I'm going to assume you were in 5th gear... 5th gear + hills don't mix.

You don't need the heat shield, but they do help... well... shield your floor from heat. Which in the summer is a nice thing.

Yeah I don't think you're really having a problem, N/A's struggle in 5th gear at low RPM. As for the heat shield... weight reduction. And 23mpg? Good luck improving on that. No rotary I've ever owned has done that well.

Dude my vert does the same thing. I make no power in fifth gear. My main problem is the big hill on pellisippi. Yah it sucks but I just downshift and struggle to go up that damn hill.

Jimi, did you ever get that Turbo eye eye running

I got the TII started. The battery still wasn't completely dead but didn't have enough power to start the motor so I jumped it. Seems to be running great... I'm curious where all my brake fluid ran off to though.
