Yeah I didn't have the heart to take more pictures of the poor 86 Base. I hope that thing sees a motor soon!

Then someone got ahold of it and decided to paint a crappy single-stage construction orange right over the nice factory clearcoat. No prepwork at all, just threw paint on it. He (I know only a guy would do this) even took the time to paint the door jams and a lot of the interior pieces. So when I got it, I noticed that the paint was chipping in places so I tried a little paint thinner on it and the stuff came off. I've spent a lot of time trying to unpaint this car without messing up the clearcoat underneath. Not an easy task.

I'm not a fan of orange, either.
i know understand when you guys talk about the "Cheeto" haha.

cool. any ideas on what color? the factory color looks good and you dont see too many. its like a dark metallic silver with hint of tan. hard to explain. the door jams and unfer the hood are still factory color.

I don't think I have any pics of the red car, or if I took them I lost them somewhere. It was dark when we got back so I doubt I took any.

clean.....define clean >.> Once it warms up a bit im gonna clean my engine bay a bit. Still debating final color when it goes to paint. Im either going to a darker red, or a concept idea of flat/matte black with deep cherry metallic flame licks along the body lines.

Whatever you do man, don't paint the car purple.

I'd define clean as no body kit, no ugly oversized rims, patches of random stickers, blotchy areas of intense orange paint, etc.

Dunno if i can follow that liz, I plan on a body kit going back to the 18's and the possible paint options with a fmic.
