I figured I'd start this thread to get everyone coordinated on driving down to the OGTA lakeside meet. See this thread for the details. Its Saturday June 7 at Crits lakeside house. I hope we get enough folks to out number the OGTA and their 12As

We need to decide:

1. The target arrival time and work backwards from that to determine meet up times along the way. I'm thinking show up no later than noon oclock at the lake.

2. What spots we will meet up to pickup the crew as we motor down there. So far we need a spot at I77/I85 thats easy to get into and back out onto I85. Down in Spartansburg if Mike (rxtasy3) is going there's a spot on I85 we can drop off easily. Remember a good spot needs to be somewhere that will allow us to all park easily together and get in and out together.

3. Parts swapping. What parts do folks have or need.

4. How to get there. Heres one way. This starts from Huntersville (of course ).

5. Who all can we expect to be going. Lets get a list going on this. So far its

Anything else we need to think of, post it in here.

 

T/A(290) exit like last time but wont know for sure til probably a day or two before.

 

So we have a possible stop along the way at Spartansburg which if we want to arrive at noon means we have to show up there around 10:30 a.m.

 

If you guys want to make a longer day of it, you're welcome to. I'll have everything setup around 10am and just might take the boat out if nobody's shown up. If y'all want to get down before noon, you're more than welcome.

 

Crit, I'm down for that but some of these guys have a hard time getting up early I figured noon was a realistic goal for most of the group.

Like I said I have a lot of toon piloting experience, had one for 16 years right up until we moved down here last year. I'm looking forward to it. Thank your parents for letting us meet up there for us all.

Anyone going down in this caravan PM me with your cell number if I don't already have it. The night before we head out I'll PM the full list of numbers to everyone so we will all have each others cell numbers for the ride down.

So far we have 3 to 4 cars coming down. 1 SA, 2FB, and 1 FC or FD (Dave?) I need to go out and see around I77/I85 we can meet up. Not down there much but there should be something thats an easy in/out for us.

 

i'll be in the FC. The tires are not going to be here in time. i plan on taking the FD to Zoom-fest in July though.

The only place I can think of off I 85 is on Freedom Dr. Exit 34. Head towards Charlotte. At the first light on the right side there is a dollar general or everythings a dollar with a big lot. Acces to 85 re-entry is pretty straight forward as far as anything along 85 goes. Just a thought that i had.

Dave thats a great spot its right in front of Freedom Mall (I assume its shopping mall). I'll send out the cell #s later today. Hopefully we here from rxtasy3 on whether he's joining up with us. Lets plan on meeting up at 9 a.m.

i'll go ahead and say i might not make it due to unforseen circumstances. but if by chance i do make it, i'll join up as u guys pass thru, no need to stop. otherwise have fun and by all means stay cool and hydrated.

 

Is B the meet up spot for the caravan?

Ok, exit 34 and meet at the hardees or wherever we met last time?

 

Hardees??? Exit 34 on I85 get off go south on Freedom under or over 85 and turn right into the first parking lot there. I think Dav said it was some kind of dollar store.

 

Yep it is on the right hand side. Turn right at the first light after crossing over 85. It is a Dollar General(everythings a Dollar) store. Big parking lot... Heh! I just rememebred I am calling in sick and that is about 1/8 mile away from work Better lay lowScrew'em,7's take priority this weekend.

There is no hardee's on Freedom Dr. Only on Little Rock Rd. But that will only confuse Stu so i be quiet now

 

Ok. Hopefully I will make the right turn on 85. See you guys in a few, I need to fill up on gas before I go.
