Shouldn't you be able to have him tune it with your 2.0, and then just use the same settings for the 2.1?? Timing shouldn't change any and it sounds like the fuel map may be a little different in the new version but you should be able to adjust for it. If you are running -3% at 3000k at vacuume on the freeway it would be the same for both yes. If you are running +16% @12psi at 5k rpm it should also stay the same. If im just retarded )not timing) let me know but i'd say you should be able to get really damn close to what it is set at IF the upgrade happens after your tuning session.

Then again.......

timing now is based on load, not on on psi vs rpm. I would basically pay $400 to have him tune my 2.0, then put the 2.1 in and 'guess' on the rest of the settings. not to mention the huge increase on fuel settings etc....

I know it doesn't have an ETA but if there was one, it would be listed there.

I highly doubt it will be next summer by the time we release it. More like late this year.

Not to ruffle anyones feathers but... Late this year???? I was told when i calles it would be out in the next couple of months. I would really like to be able to tune my car at higher boost. Again not to **** anyone off but... If u released a product that needs modification to be as much as it is supposed to be y not do the update first. then worry about new products.

Sorry for the rant...

Guys! My comment about later this year was directed at MyLastExtacy asking about the S5, NOT the S4.

icecreaman- I'm sorry that you feel we need to get this out before your dyno session. We are going to release it when we feel it's ready. We expect that to be within the next month or so. While we will do our best, we cant guarantee that it will be ready by the time your dyno session rolls around.

im not saying it should be, im just trying to find out if it WILL be.
I would love to put out a sweet tune with my BNR stage 4 and the Rtek, im not going to be butthurt if its not done. however i just need to get something else if it wont be ready.
for the record, i love my stage 2 as it sits with my BNR stage1 at 12 psi. It was a real easy tune. but the stage 4 without the upgrades of the 2.1 i can't see spending the cash on the tune.
let me know either way asap if you guys feel it wont be out or not
Thanks

Sry turbo2ltr...

Just anxious to get the fb up to 12 psi.

I can understand waiting for a final product for the release.

And as far as the tuning at stock boost a+ job! It is a very easy to use interface.

Can the Rtek be fitted to a N318 J spec ecu?

No it cant.

Well it probably could, but the base code would still be the N332 code, so it my not play well with JDM ECU/Motor. It has not been researched.

Not to hijack the thread, but is the 2.0 able to run without afm yet? I read in another thread that on release it still needed it but would soon be able to do away with it. This happened yet? Also, anyone have any screen shots or self made timing maps to show? I havent seen one in here yet made in the same layout as the rtek tuning map

To me that looks like a foreign language. Nothing is labeled, which is my main problem. What is what. Sorry for the noobish questions. Trying to find out more about the 2.0 before I buy one

Also, will the 2.1 be a software update or a new chip? Am I better off waiting for the 2.1 as it says 2nd quarter of 07', which should be soon should it not. PSI vs RPM sounds much nicer to me than load vs rpm. thanks

Theres only so much you can cram on the screen. the Load axis is labeled, RPM runs along the bottom and timing values are in the boxes.

I highly suggest you read the manual...I think it would help you understand.

I guess that makes sense. So your only seeing a part of the total grid? It confused me becuase the rpm's only covers about a 1000rpm spectrum and load only to 26. Again, AFM used or can it be dropped? Thanks

Correct (read the manual!)

> Again, AFM used or can it be dropped?

Read the FAQ Sticky. It's also answered several times in this thread....

screen is easy to read for me.

you can tune for more boost, u just gotta be careful, have a wideband and know what your doing and you'll be ok. i got a rough tune right now, it's just running alittle rich in some spots but thats as best as i can do especially when i know the new update is coming and ill have to retune it again.
