The main issues were trying to broker a deal where both racers, their teams & the organisers are all happy. Remember the economy is not the greatest right now, so everyone is skeptical about laying down 10's of thousands of dollars, so that was one of the main reasons there were many changes. Dee can say more if he like but I'm not going into details

As stated in previous posts, some cars were shipped back to the US but the ones that stayed will have some serious grudge matches against the PR cars. The match races might be announced tomorrow with the final dates... yes I said dates, not date!! as in more than one event

They are missing an event because they are upset about a date change?

The date will not be changing as far as i know. The first event will be held the weekend of the 21-22 as advertised. And yes look for more events in the future, and yes they will be happening in the US as well as PR.

And yes i am in PR

Times are tough and we appreciate the fans patience.

Man, too bad there's a bunch of flower sniffers and tree huggers down here in California. You could literally race down here almost everyday. It was in the mid 80's today. Too bad we don't have the tracks and racer support that you guys have. Too many sissies that complain about noise pollution and insurance thru the roof keeps very few tracks in SoCal.

Today Carolina Speedway started it's demolition to make way for a brand new golf course.. The land is owned by the municipality and I guess it wasn't profitable as a race track. This place only needed TLC and it would have been the best track in PR. The shut down area was longer than Salinas and the entire pit/parking area was paved.

With that said, Import Revolution '09 (on the drawing board) will take place at Salinas Speedway

That really sucks. That's pretty much how it has been going down here in Cali.- too many tree huggers complaining of noise and of couse they can make more money building gold courses and condo's.

Unlike CA, puerto rico has an economic problem and I guess the municipality needed money, so they had to do what's best for the town. From a business point of view it makes plenty of sense, but it's just heart breaking to see a track that was once the best drag racing facility in all of the Caribbean go to waste.

At least it went out with a bang!! Import Revolution 2008 was the best drag racing experience of my life. 10 times better than pan american nationals

I'm over a year late on this, but who gives a crap :-)

Today I finally loaded all of my photos from Import Revolution.. Enjoy

Click Here for Photos - Friday/Viernes

Click Here for Photos - Saturday/Sabado

Click Here for Photos - Sunday/Domingo

This was probably the greatest assembly of Pro Import Drag racing cars ever!! As much as I hate to admit it, I don't think we'll ever see a collection of cars like this on the same track.

Great pics, thanks. That was one of my favorite tracks. The last thing I heard is that the golf course didn't get approved and now it just one big grass field. What a waste!
