ACT 6-puck - Sprung or solid?
I finally wore out my solid 6-puck and I'm looking to replace it. I've been happy with so i was going to replace it with the same one but got to looking at the sprung clutch. The specs seem to be similar, but the sprung disc would be better for street driving. However, I'm wondering if it would hold up to launching as well as the solid disc.
Has anyone driven both? How did they compare? Would they net similar 60's?

sprung is more street friendly but I am 100% happy with the unsprung. Down side is the slipping of the unsprung wears it quicker and its near impossible not to slip it a tad at red lights and such.
I prefer driving the unsprung on the street. I always seem to get much more chatter from the sprung puck clutches. I'm sure it's something I'm doing but that is my experience.
Have no idea what would be preferred at the strip.

I love the sprung....much less chatter for me than the unsprung.
Not saying much because my driving = garbage.

I also have a sprung disc and it feels better to me on the street. I always thought the sprung ones were easier on the drivetrain too, is that true?

I'm wondering if it would save drivetrain parts or if its not enough.
Also, are the extreme pressure plates the same for both? I might just buy the sprung clutch and if i end up hating it, just buy the 6puck disc (or maybe get the pads on my current one replaced.)

just get this:
Full Faced Sintered Iron
- Recommended for clutch-less shifting (Drag Race transmissions only) "just ignore this"
- Very high torque capacity
- Extremely durable and heavy
- Very harsh engagement

Honestly, when I had sprung, there was a thud when I engaged the clutch. With unsprung, there is no noise. I doubt 4 springs would be able to save a trans anyway...

I'm familiar with them, i've had the same ACT 6 puck for 6 years. They get an A+ in my book.
Did the engagement feel the same?
