It depends on a lot of variables, a carb may increase the power on the very top end but it would be not very fun to drive on the street because of lost bottom end. Over all I would say EFI is better from the bottom to top of the RPM range. So 'area under the curve' power goes to EFI.

not always true. Yes a standalone with a tuned intake manifold will, with oversixe TB on a ported engine. But for a stock motor, a carb and manifold will yield an increase of around 20 -30 hp over a stock fuel injection system. Especially when combined with complete exhaust.

How's this: With all else being equal, a properly tuned EFI will make more power and have much better drivability.

a carb works off of a restriction, restriction results in a loss of ve. how can a loss in ve = greatter power?

fi doesnt need restriction, so with fi you can have the least restrictive exhaust and the same optimum exhaust setup
