I'm aware of those transducers. I heard about them for some time. It would be nice to set them up for a rotary application too see the actual results.

Tell you both what, if you guys can make it happen I might be willing to pay for it. Chris, you already have and engine (or two) running NRS seals and I'm sure some customers with factory or other seals to compare to.

What do you guy's think?

Yeah, its been some time since we have done those kind of tests. I been wanting to set one up for my own engines for some time now. I was just planing on running a transducer on the trailing plug hole, no trailing spark at all for the testing (just easy to machine an adaptor to fit into the plug hole, and trailing spark doesn't really effect peak pressure timing). I was just looking to find out peak pressure in relation to crank angle for optimum ignition timming amongst any other intersting things I could do with it. One of my buddies just purchased a pressure transducer, but his interest is just a compression tester, so I don't know if the transducer he purchased would live through actual engine running. I'll have a chat with some of the old NASA guys I've worked with and see if they recall what kind of stuff we used and whats laying around.

I just got a set of Cermet A housings off of Rotary resurrection yesterday and it won't be long before I put my order in for a set of seals and springs. Are we looking at about 4 weeks before they're ready to go?

Actually it looks like the 2mm springs will be completed ahead of schedule. I expect them within a week or two. I still need to make some fixtures and I can't do that until I have the springs in hand.

Happy Trails

NRS goes UAV

Here is a picture of some 2 pc seals I made for a UAV (unmanned air vehicle) application.

I will post results (if I am allowed to) when they come in. The customer was experiencing wear and sealing problems using 2 pc steel seals.

Are these the same dimentions as mazda seals, or are these one off?

Is it for this company: http://www.uavenginesltd.co.uk/index.php?id=396

NRS 2pc Ceramic Power Seals are almost ready

We have planned some serious testing of the 2pc design in street, road race and drag race applications.

NRS 1pc seals have proven themselves time and time again in the above applications with the likes of Sporty, La Anais, La Sarita, MR 12A, Mazsports 20B powered RX-3, crispeed's V8 Kila, Cameron VandenDungens ser2 IP car and Scott Flemmings IPRA circuit racer to mention a few.

Scott has smashed every record last year and has been the most dominant ever in the history of the series. Huge props to Scott Flemming and Issy from Select Maz who built the engine.

Siguel bought 2 sets of 2mm 1pc NRS Ceramic Power Seals after getting sick of tearing down engines every session to replace bananas. I don't know that we'll ever get data back on those though

We don't really know what to expect running NRS 2pc ceramics in drag applications as many believe they are only good up to 20 - 25psi. These however are opinions based on Ianetti 2pc seals. My design is somewhat different in the wedge design and the main bar having more meat in the corner seal area so we will put them to the test!

Here's what we have planned for testing:
NRS will make special arrangements for a set of 2pc seals for each application.
One set to Sporty (drag racing), one set to Rice Racing (ultimate stock street car) and one set to Select Maz/Scott Flemming (road racing).

Others are welcome to participate and should pm me with their interest.
Crispeed? Interested?
I haven't forgot about you either Enzo, bring on the 50 psi!!

Happy Trails,
Sven

RICESP is ready and waiting

Best 100% proven seals on the planet, heaps of preteners will jump on the bandwagon now i'm sure and try to develope their own ceramic seals, you need to remember we have busted our ******* ***** over 2 years of sheer hard work getting these to the market AND PROVING THEM !.

Over 70 sets in my own case alone! across every type of rotary application you can dream about at unherd of power levels and unsurpassed totaly foreign levels of DURABILITY. And the RESULTS speak for them selves.

Still to this day people try to protect the secret of this fantastic product as a competative edge, we have worked at making it common knowledge so everyone can benifit from it and cut through all of the bullshit in the apex seal market.

NRS is the only way to go

its more like 3 years (loose track of time), either way you can count on alot longer time than that mate !

keep up the fantastic work on this world leading product

p.s. 8+ years shows just how much time and knowledge is invested in this single area alone, I shudder to think how many accumualted hours/miles of total running has been amased by all of our customers ..... you cant put a price on that level of testing and refinment of a product.

It's difficult to believe that such pretty picture of parts actually belong to inside of a motor. I prefer to stare at them all day.

If you did not know any better you would sware that's a pile of worthless metal strips.
The micro polishing does make such a big difference in both looks and performance wise. I always said it's better to hold out and wait for the updated and upgraded stuff. I'm glad I've been holding out on purchasing my next set of apex seals and springs. I likee a lot what I'm seeing now.
Bring it on Sven you're the man!

I agree^^^ I want the definition of reliability and I think this is the way to go. But damn its a shame something that pretty has to get hidden inside my engine. I guess I'll have to make the outside pretty too.

Speed Machine Performance built Falcon Tire/Falken Motorsports RX8 D1GP/Formula D

I had the rare privilege of watching this car in the build from the ground up for sponsors eyes only.

You know, I tried to come up with the words to describe the time, skill, dedication and effort that went into this car. I wanted to elaborate on the quality of parts used and how nothing was spared etc.etc. but I think it's best if you experience it yourself.

I am starting with general details and pictures of the finished car. There is a lot of pictures of the parts that went into the build.

If you want to see them pm me and (if there is enough interest) I'll put them on the thread.
But the chassis fabrication is confidential and I wont be posting pics of that.

Dave Gibson/Speed Machine Performance has promised to personally share his experiences with NRS Ceramic Power Seals here once the post is made.

- Owner: Falken Tire Corp.
- Car: 2007 Mazda RX-8
- 13B-RE Cosmo Engine w/2mm 1pc grey NRS Ceramic Power Seals
- Haltech E11v2
- Twin GT28RS Turbos
- Custom Turbo and Intake Manifold
- Tein Mono Flex Coilovers
- SSR MS1 18X10 & 18X10.5 Wheels
- Mazdaspeed Aero
- Twin BDL Throttle Bodies
- Adel Wiggins Clamps throughout
