Well there will definetly be some extra's to go around.

Actually there will be 2 flavors, one being initially tested in my N/A PP 13B with NRS 2pc ceramic seals and new rotor housings. All built by Pineapple Racing, dynoed with the 2pc ceramic seals only, torn down, flavor 1 installed, dynoed again, torn down, flavor 2 installed, dynoed again all the while recording any gains.

How do the springs look that came out of that engine? It was a turbo engine obviously? How much boost did they see? What kind of life did they live in general? Was the engine pre-mixed?

Chris

Marc tells me the springs look just like the pics I posted before. Just a bit of the tips are shined up nice.

I will confirm but I think this is a N/A engine on premix.

They still live

Here's another pic of the housing. Not real clear but I've been promised some better ones soon. Also some clear pics of the seals responsible for that perfect finish.

I found out the engine is N/A built by Pineapple Racing and NO premix was used. Driven very very hard. The housings were not cleaned for the pics just gently wiped free of coolant and oil with a paper towel.

Hopefully a clearer shot will better show the finish but even in this out of focus pic you can see the reflection of the exhaust port. Nice thing is this finish will last many times longer than hard chrome with no flaking or peeling. It is much more impact resistant than hard chrome and combined with NRS ceramic seals offers substantially less friction. I can't wait till these have 120,000 miles on them, then
180,000 and such forth. I think 60,000 mile intervals would serve the purpose.

Fastest RX-3 on the planet

Congratulations to Nick Tsoltoudis who on May 19/2007 ran 7.39 @ 186 mph. This makes him the fastest RX-3 in the world. Done with NRS Ceramic Power Seals that have been in the engine for over 1 1/2 years.

Colon puts down 980 RWHP running NRS 3mm 1pc

I just talked to Gaby and with their new set-up (bigger turbo, more injectors and no intercooler) they made 980 RWHP at 43 psi with approx 550 ft/lbs of torque.

I will post the dyno graph once I have it.

Gaby also reported that with the old set-up (dyno graph on page 7) they made a dyno run where the engine went really lean and did a huge backfire, ripping the plenum apart and blowing out the welds. When he tore the engine down all 6 seals were perfect.

These same seals were used to make the 980 RWHP.

One of the seals did break in one of the later runs but there was no damage to anything. The seal broke cleanly on one side and Gaby told me you couldn't tell the seal was broken by how the engine ran. It started no problem and ran nicely.
The set of seals is being sent to me and I will post pics when they arrive. The 5 remaining seals will be re-inspected for any problems and used again if they are ok.

So how can you tell if a seal is broken without disassembling the engine>?

Chris

yes its true as i supplied the seals and deal with mazsport directly

the engine was refreshed about a month ago now and one rotor was running leaner than the others and one set of seals had a bad wear pattern, they were replaced and the rest (1.5year old seals reused) and the car went on to reset the world record.

no other product out there can claim to be as reliable or make as much power pound for pound PERIOD !!!

The engine was disassembled. They discovered it was broken by performing a compression test. The compression was down a bit on one rotor.

Yup we reuse them when ever possible. Speaking of which, your 2 seals will have the tops kissed to new and completed with my 2 pc seals order. They should be ready soon.

ROTFLMAO

I'm not doubting this scenario, and I'm a huge fan of your seals, it's just this line is straight out of that horrible movie "To Fast to Furious"! Like I said, big fan, I fully intend to order a set, but don't let your next post be about a diamond patterned aluminum floor board falling out of a customers car!!

I see no reference to that line with the movie because in actuality I've seen it happened many times beefore to a lot of people including myself. Lean misfire/backfire and cracked intake manifolds are part of this buisness when you're pushing the limits. Just ask any serious nitrous user how common that is to them.

OK, again as I said orginally, I don't doubt his scenerio. I've seen pleanty of nitrous cars blow manifolds, more old school blower V8's if anything from a hick-up. It was a funny line that was in a cheesey movie. I just pointed it out :P It's weird to see a serious reply from you, lately for the last year its 80% sarcasm, although still informative to others in a round about way.

Ha ha, ok I wasn't sure whether to take you seriously or not either. I had no idea what I was saying was a line from a movie. I was only relating what I was told happened.
