How to make an Rx7 loud

I’ve heard stock rx7’s and they seem to be quiet and not like the ones I hear on YouTube. How do they make it sound like that? Like how do they get the brum brum brum when idling and driving?

...aftermarket performance exhausts tend to make cars louder.

Porting to the engine, larger diameter free flowing exhaust, mods, wastegate(s) dumped to atmosphere, etc., will make an rx7 louder.

Getting a modified rx7 to be loud isn't hard... getting and keeping all the benefits while keeping the volume down is the trick.

If you delete the header they get pretty throaty. You should try it and drive around for a while.

Like with any car, opening up the exhaust will make it significantly louder regardless of the rotary motor type. I've heard some RX8 NA rice burners with straight pipes that were stupid loud.

The brapping noise however will be related to porting, and with more porting comes more noise in general. My stock port was obnoxiously loud with just a full 3" straight pipe exhaust but it was just a consistent hmmmmmmmm at 850 rpms. The new semi port motor on the other hand chops like a helicopter is probably twice as loud at idle with two mufflers and a silencer in a full 4" exhaust.

It shakes the third story of my house from the basement and apparently I woke up my neighbor's daughter who works nights at 3pm the other day from a half a mile away at idle.

But to be fair, I didnt have the silencer in then and it was only the 2 mufflers.
