Double Turbo Plan

Hey,
I didn't know if this belonged in the single turbo section or in the rotary performance section as it's a turbo question, but not a single turbo question... anyway, has anyone tried using two small turbos instead of one large one? Those K03 turbos and T3s are cheap on ebay and at junkyards. I don't know what the proper sizing and configuration would be for those, but experimenting is half the fun.

Just stick with ceramic ball bearing. They're 16-25 times stronger than a dual ball bearing, and it'll be a cleaner setup than your two small turbos

But not nearly as cheap. Those T3s and KKK turbos are CHEAP on ebay. Besides, there are plenty of ways around lag if you don;t mind destroying a turbo after a few hundred miles...

Well, lotta 3rd gen guys did... oh wait, that was stock.

There's a couple parallel twin turbo kits around... not too common though. It's been done, obviously. I think the consensus is that you can get better raw performance through a big single, but... pair of cheap T3s is an attractive idea tho, as long as you end up fabbing everything yourself. Which is a downside in a lot of people's minds, especially when there's off-the-shelf single turbo kits.

I don't have anywhere to upload a photo, so I just e-mailed it to you, nkeehn. The photo is of a 20B with 3 turbos running parallel. Just plain cool.

If anyone still cares, I have a friend who is gonna try 2 K03s on a ported S4. I think it's more for fun than anything but I'll tell you how it goes.
