A Real Kill involving a Viper
A Real Kill involving a Viper
This happened a few weeks ago but i thought i should post anyways.
Here's the link for the Viper. Watch the news report.

The dad is stupid to give his son a Viper. And just 2 years ago, three teens died at my school in an Integra when they came off a turn doing 125 and went into the grass until they hit a huge utility pole. All were killed except driver.

Yeah, there is one guy here at NCSU that has a Viper and a Supra, both given to him by his parents. What the hell were his parents thinking, Vipers are known to be hard to handle, more so than a lot of cars, especially for young drivers.

I went to a very snooty high school where it was COMMON for the kids to drive BMW, Mercedes, even some Porsches and NSXs, etc... Nearly every kid that got anything better than 125 hp wrecked it within 2 years, and at least two were killed that I can remember.
Giving a fast car to a kid is RETARDED. I wouldn't even give my kid a 200 hp car, let alone a 500 hp car.

there use to be a kid that went to the same highschool as me and he would drive his dad's viper to school now and then. i dont care how responsible your kid is, i seriously doubt he can handle a Viper or any other high HP car.

It's not the fact that he was 17 and driving a Viper. Or an Integra. Or a Moped.
It's the fact that he was driving recklessly and stupid on the street. And it killed his friend.
It's easy to blame the parents or the kid or peer pressure. But the truth is, you might want to start by looking at your own actions too:
well I didnt see you out on the cruise, of course weaving in and out of traffic on 635 at 130mph may be to much for some people.

Practically the entire "Kills" section is full of the same thing that killed that kid.

Both were single, unplanned events on completely empty stretches of interstate, but that doesn't make it OK. It was a poor decision and I definately am in no hurry to make the same mistake again. Simply too many unexpected things can happen at absurd speeds that you can't plan for....
And if it only kills you, you're lucky.
whatever, racing and not racing, if you wreck, you can kill your self and others even if your doing 50mph, or even 70mph on the interstate, im tired of you old asses bitching about street racing, yeah its illegal, but so is not using your blinker, but i see people do it everyday. you guys suck

Street racing increases the chance of having an accident, not using your blinker increases the chance of an accident. Driving the speed limit, and following traffic laws DECREASES your chances. Sheesh. Just because alot of people don't use their blinkers doesn't make it ok for you and everyone else to.I'm sorry, but you my friend, are stupid. It's because of people that think like you that causes accidents. If you want to go kill yourself in your car, be my guest, but when it involves killing someone else at your stupidity, it's a whole other story.

Sure, you can wreck anything if you drive stupidly.... but the demands on the driver, and consequences for screwing up are alot higher in a car like a Viper.
If i might step onto my soap box for a minute:
There's really no point in voting for "family values" or fretting about whether or not a couple of gay guys get married in your neighborhood because you're worried about the values your kids might grow up with, if you're then just going to turn around and teach them bad lessons and shitty values by buying them a ******* Viper when they turn 16, handing them 50 bucks for dinner, and disapearing...

I think this would be a good plug for Darwin's theory, survival of the fittest, although an accident can happen to the smartest of people. But then again, "why tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at death?"
Although, if you kill someone else, that doesn't really apply.

Speedjunkie I am with you one the survival of the fittest. I have no issues with people removing themself from the gene pool. My entire issue with this is the fact that the father's neglegence in letting a minor drive a 500hp sports car resulted in the death of a child that was not his own.
