come on guys, cruising is fun and the people who get out there and do it like the three of us did that night do a pretty nice job making sure to only go fast at the safe/open areas of highway. just my perspective.

BTW Clint, were we really going that fast? it seemed like it but i couldn't tell since i was watching the road and trying to shut my phone up

If I recall to posts up reads: "...weaving in and out of traffic on 635 at 130mph..."
I have never seen traffic clean open areas on 635 to hit that speed.

I got my old bike up to an indicated 165 on 635 before. Granted that was at 3 am on a Thursday and I immediately let off the throttle. But still...

hmm, i have....

point is, if you are an idiot and you go out and drive like that without knowing how to handle your car and disregarding others around you then yes, it it can be very dangerous and foolish. however, i've seen these guys drive for years and many of us compete in autocross and track events regularly and have very smart highway awareness. of all the high speeds we reached, i never witnessed any close calls or weaving wildly without signaling. just keep in mind there are ways to have fun and still be safe.

I opened it up to 130 right before Marsh on 635, buzzing that C5 and 993. and then got up to 120 comming out of the corner onto the tollway. I had slowed down to 80 right before the tollway, you guys were in front of me going around the corner onto the tollway, it looked sweet from where I was sitting, the 3 of us bumper to bumper comming out of that corner, shooting by all the traffic.

Oh yea, much props to the guys who came out from Killeen, extremely late may i add . BDC, Eric, a couple others, and I were comming out from eating at Cheddars around 10:30ish (i really dont remember the time) when the two guys from Killeen were chilling in the parkinglot next to their 3rd gens. Apparently they had just gotten there a few mins before we came out of Cheddars. They were cool guys when i talked to them. Hope yall make it out, on time, next time

So there was wild weaving with signals?......j/k....but it should be duly noted that Rob Moroso was a professional NASCAR racer with some racing years under his belt and it didn't help in the end...

and i'm going to act like I didn't see the carbon wing joke....

Surely you see the irony here:

Most people who race on the track do it partly because they realize the stupidity and danger of racing on the street. I don't care if your name is Mario Andretti- there's no way you can be "safe" weaving through traffic on 635 at 130 MPH.

If you want to race around like that, be my guest. But don't insult our intellegence and try to "justify" it by claiming you're an experienced driver and it's "safe" when you do it.

The point for me is, other drivers can change lanes without "signaling" or having any "awarness", since they are not expecting a "Formula 1" driver like you, blowing by at 130mph.
So when an accident happens, it is the "IDIOT" that was speeding, not on the "non speeding idiot" that is blamed for the accident.
Don't think I'm a puritan or that I just want to bust your chops.
I have raced on the Tollway, but it has been late at night with NO TRAFFIC, NO weaving and NO signaling(not needed on a straight line).
Weaving thru traffic at those high speed, wether you are experienced, know your car, signaling or have "very smart" highway awareness, you still are an "IDIOT".
As speed increases, safety decreases even in a controlled area like the track.
Where were you asleep at physics class???
Idiots + speed+ public highways= death of inocent people + one dead Idiot

Why not use your blinkers???, that way you have one less thing to be aware of and concentrate even more so on your high speed driving while weaving traffic at 130mph on 635.
Or maybe, you can put a glow in the dark sign or neon lighting that says:

"IDIOT ON BOARD"

This way, we all know where you are and who you are.

dude I use turn signals even when I drift, got to let the other drivers know when I am about to slide past them.
and now you happen to sound like a bit of a hypocrite, with reguards to your racing on the tollway. Remember, as speed increases safty decreases.

And therein lies the problem. If it were just the ID10T taking himself out of the gene pool it might not be quite so tragic. C'mon people, save it for the track. If you need to prove your manliness please don't do it were people and their families may be. At 130mph you've got enough potential energy to completely obliterate any passenger car you may hit that would be travelling in the SAME DIRECTION as you when you loose control of your car. Now think about how much energy will be imparted should you cross the median and whack a car head on. Yes, the impact really is much higher than if you hit a brick wall at 200mph. The highways aren't swept like road courses are and it only takes one mis-step. It's just plain stupid.

I'm being honest, not a hypocrite like you. I'm not exposing other people like you weaving in and out at 130mph on 635.
Tollway late at night, on a straight line with NO traffic, exposes no one, other than me and the one that has taken the same responsability of racing me(that is a total of 2 idiots racing).
If I blow a tire, I maybe a gonner, but you blow a tire and you take with you, God only knows how many and I don't give a **** what happens to you.

The problem here is, you don't know how to read and differenciate between the two. Please learn to READ and COMPREHEND!!!!!! a mind is a terrible thing to waist.
Shouldn't you be in school learning something now, instead of increasing you post count??

Why don't you admit the danger in the stupidity of what you said and did on 635 at 130mph???
Maybe that's asking to much from you.
You never seem to understand the problem, when we argue and allways side track.

..and I never said that my speed was safe, so I'm not being a hypocrit here A..hole.

WOOOOOW!!
I'm so impressed with your abilities, that I'm speachless.
So please explain which one is it:
You use the signaling so not to lose the other IDIOTS while weaving traffic at 130mph on 635 or to make other drivers aware of your intentions of passing???

ya know, you can take it as you will. i'm not here to insult intellegence of anybody. all i'm saying is this....you don't like haulin *** on the highway?.....no problem, i will never give anybody any **** for that. but people shouldn't give me or anybody else **** for wanting to do it. i don't have to justify to you ...just tryin to make some points. wish there wasn't so much drama about this crap...

...to each his own...

and yes, we definately need to cruise more often. my car should go a little faster if i can get more LED's on it

are there some cruising activities that are dangerous?......yes, of course. could it be a LOT more dangerous than what we do?........absolutely.

anyways, you don't like it? no prob just try to let it go.....you'll live longer
