NA S4 vs Civic SI
Pulled out into traffic, got behind an 06+ Civic SI... He gives it a little gas and sharply cuts to the left lane before we both have to stop at a light. He looks over and revs a little, I rev back.
I tack it to 6500, light turns green we both launch... I thought I was gonna have my *** handed to me, but I take the guy until about 80mph before he starts pulling up. Then we have to stop for light.
So what the heck people? I thought those things have some K series engine making like 200hp or something.
I was driving Mutaku's car (for those that know him) since he is in the airforce and his car has AC and a stereo
His car is all stock, 88 GXL with horrible LSD. Only mods it has is a home made cold air intake and airpump actuated 5/6 port. I mean even the exhaust is a smaller diameter than a stock exhaust
Civic was just an 06+ body style SI. Looked stock, no rims or exhaust or anything.
I did get an awesome launch though because I have been practicing lately. I am just wondering if the guy was maybe sandbagging. Any thoughts?

Civic si comparable to a acura rsx? I beat one of them last week with the vert. I thought he was gonna get me, but I get experience>performance? lol He had exhaust and lowered with a few gauges, so maybe some mods? Vert is stock with fireball exhaust.

This is funny because i had a similar encounter, except i have a streetport, full exhaust, and a drop in k&n. I was merging onto the freeway and had a si sedan on my *** so i said what the hell?, downshifted to third took it to 7500 went into fourth to about 115 and was very surprised i had a 1 car lead on him? I didn't post because i knew i was probably going to get flamed, so i read this and said ok might as well. Btw good race.
