This speed seems lofty for you and slugish for him. I guess it's driver.

high horsepower supras will eat us up on highway pulls, their top end is just crazy, but from a start the 7 has a definite advantage.

No he wasn't.

You say you have a fresh motor in your car as well. Is it a rebuild? How many miles are on it if so?

You said you were racing on the highway. How much skill does it take for someone to mash the gas and shift? You could blame bad driving skills I suppose, however it's hard to drive bad when you are at cruising speed on the highway.
What speed did you get up to anyways? Because if he was actually contending, he would have stomped the **** out of you. The top end on those cars is wayyy wayy above your FD.

To my understanding, RX7s edge out supras in this department, I've seen it a thousand times.
I wouldn't say you were wrong, but in all fairness, at power levels of +/- 400rwhp, I'd say in most cases I've seen, it becomes the drivers ability to launch and get down that 1/4th. Anything closer to stock, and its also drivers 0-60 usually putting out consistent numbers. Too much depends on the tires, suspension, and various conditions (for example the road). I'd agree though, that I'd give the nod to a lightly modded FD and driver in this case due to weight.

Peak horsepower # and highway rolls to near top speed :

Advantage Supra
Agreed, bigger displacement wins here.

I understand that despite their heft, Supras handle really well, that's cool. From a dig, time after time I see them lose, whether it's just all the drivers, or too much horsepower, or whatever.
Yep, and again its the amount of power being put to the ground through either a good or poor tires contact patch. I've just as well seen lower power FD's jump 500rwhp FDs (taking supras out of the equation for a moment), and hold them off for a good 200+ ft. In the case of the supra, they have more low end (the RPM low end ), so it requires more skill on the drivers part.

In my opinion, that has nothing to do with race prepped cars. Rotaries don't blow up while racing professionally any more that other cars (as a matter of fact, less). My .02 cents
I'm more on the average tuner(s), or local car club guys page. The guys who drive their vehicles on the street, as well as seeing some track time on weekends. Professional sponsors and teams have far more resources behind them in order to support their respective vehicles, so I can't really argue from a mechanical standpoint who/what's better to fair. At the track, you'll see it all.

LOL. Are you sure your name isn't Greg Schroeder? His FD is apparently ridiculously fast considering the very few mods he has done. He has killed several cars that any other similarly-modded FD would never have a chance at beating.

In all seriousness, if you work at shop that specializes in Porsches, you should know that a 911 Turbo would tear you a new one with the few mods you have done. If you want to keep telling yourself that you beat one, go right ahead. Ignorance is bliss, I suppose.
