The trailing being loose is believable. Its your tuneRich. Seams like the temperature correction map is off. This happened when it got hot right? I remember the car running better before the summer hit.

you might try the Denso racing iridiums, cleaned up my top end break-up, but perhaps you have a more serious coil/electrical issue

it's always something with these cars, I just couldn't take driving a Mustang like every other high school/college kid in this town

Yeah, It ran much better in the cooler weather. It that's the case, I may ditch the PFC altogether, because I'm sick of this ****.

Speaking of tune, i know that you leaned out the AFRs and advanced the timing for these races from your street tune, and were running with an almost empty tank of gas. You'd better be careful, popping a motor racing an FD would be pretty embarrassing

I have brand new 10 series race plugs in the leading. I'm wondering if my old fc leading coil is finally giving up the ghost......

Maybe that's the problem, I would love it if it was that simple. Due to intake temp correction, my AFRs at WOT tend to be +/- half a point. They were in the mid 11s last time I drove the FD (about a month ago). I'll go in and adjust the AFRs, thanks for the tip carson .

this sounds familiar... I raced a mostly stock 03 (intake, catback, pulley) when i still had my evo. this guy advanced his timing and leaned the fuel to run me from a stop (he was on DR's). I got him by a nose cause i messed up the launch. later that night he went to beech bend raceway in BG (this was when i was in school at WKU) and he poped the motor cause he didnt put the timing/ afr's back. and he said "dude, this motor will take anything, trust me it will never blow" before the race when i said "watch out or it will pop."

im not within power range.. 295rwhp at 13psi but ran him nonetheless only at a peak of 11psi three times at rotorfest..
rich was at 15psi on those runs..dont think his fd is runnin right and isnt producin the power its supposed to...
its indicative of the times he was generating in comparison with that of mine...

If I try and accelerate through it, it feels kind of 'lumpy,' not cutting out or anything but it just stops accelerating. AFRs are in the high 10s, so I don't think that's it. EGTs and Fuel px look fine too. Very frustrating.
I can vouch for this. I have been in my brothers car (goodfellas) plenty of times and recently it has been running like utter ****. It is know where near as fast as it has been (last couple months). The car does not pull strong all the way to 8k like it used to and the way the power has been coming on hasn't been as smooth as I remember. The day that Rich raced Ihor we went to get lunch in his car before meeting up w/ ihor. He proceeded to rev out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. After, we both looked at each other like, WTF?!?! Why is the car running abnormally? Don't get me wrong, the car 'felt' fast but in no way ripped through the gears as it had on previous occasions (I always keep an eye on the AFR and the Tach).

Ryan

You also can tell nothing from the video that Ihor posted, that's obvious

I had the same problem with traling plug wire it seemed to drop h/p about 15/20% I later found out the inside of plug wire was loose and had white chalkey dust. It ran fine until upper rpm's. It also caused higher egt temps.
