Update:

Made some runs tonight and leaned AFRs from 10.8 to 11.3. Night and day difference, car felt nice and smooth at 1 bar boost right to 8k rpms. Felt good to actually shift at redline and stay in the powerband.

Now I just have to up the boost to 18 psi.

Ihor, how about we go from a dig? zero to 150 .

nice runs
usually run 1 bar (14.5) due to the shitty quality of pump gas. Even with the water injection I'm hesitant to crank the boost up to 17 or 18.

Boost is gear dependent, but the car makes about 10 psi by 3800 and 15-17 psi by 4300, give or take a bit.

Ihor, I'll ask my brother if he knows of a place.

0 to 170 would be more interesting

I'm guesing the Mustang falls on it's face like the one dimensional boat anchor it really is at about 155

put some 100 octane race gas in it and let her rip (I just filled up with 100 myself for BDC tuning and tried not to watch the dollars as they scrolled past at light speed, ha)

It will be hard enough finding a road to safely get up to 150. Honestly, Ihor's mustang isn't a bad car, it's definitely very fast in a straight line. You've got to respect the power he's made with a minimum of mods.

How did the tuning come out? If I can find a local source for 100 octane I may end up using it all the time.....

how about 0 to 1 million while you're at it?

i even think 0-150 is over doing it, you cars will not trap any higher than 120-30ish, so why even push it way past the quarter?

dangerous and stupid if you ask me, but be safe and good luck to both.

his blower might hold together up to 150...or the belt might fly off

and that's why I don't really respect those cars, they are pretty mindless, and essentially ubiquitous...as i indicated previously, I can make a VW Bus fast in a straight line, who really cares? I've been in a 9 second Keith Black big block Camaro that would gobble up his little factory pony car for breakfast, but life is more than straight lines (at least in terms of motorsports)

How did the tuning come out?
just getting into it, brian is very detailed and he tunes for overall street performance, not just max load

If I can find a local source for 100 octane I may end up using it all the time.....
hope you have plenty of surplus on the credit card

Come one guys....let's not ruin this friendly race.

I don't see a need to go into 5th gear. From a dig to ~140 or top of 4th gear.
or rolling race...2nd or 3rd gear to end 4th >>>>> on an empty highway.
Not sure of the Cobra's gearing, Ihor what does your 4th top out at?

That will show the potential of both cars based on HP and weight......and driver:-)

Let me know when it goes down.
I'll represent the rotary side on pump gas or camera car....does not matter.

Nice to hear Rich has the car ready for battle !!!

Ihor is probably installing some NAZZZZZ to make sure no rotary gets in front of him....(Hehehehehe....only kiddin').

It's just stupid to say "oh! how about 170mph?!?!?!!" and yes, trap speeds are what matter on the streets, unless you have the 1/4 marked off, or even if you ahead by a few lengths the smart thing to do is to just slow down and stop racing yourself.

and stop name calling on other cars because it doesn't meet YOUR standards, other people obviously have diferent needs than yours.

that's a nice cobra, stop being a ***** all the time and give credit where it's due even if you don't like what it is, all you're doing here is stirring things with your name calling.

Goodfella, when are you guys running again or is anything planned?

remember, just be safe and don't listen to Improved.

did you notice the smiley? it was only half serious, although the FD has superior aerodynamics and is considerably smaller

and yes, trap speeds are what matter on the streets
say who, you? I'll race you in the mountains here in NC and your trap speeds won't mean jack

and stop name calling on other cars because it doesn't meet YOUR standards, other people obviously have diferent needs than yours.

lol yeah dude, i'm pretty sure you're the type of guy that when he gets his *** handed to him in a straight line automatically throws out, "oh! how about we race in the twisties!" or even better.. "my car isn't meant for straight line performance"

I'm entitled to my opinion, kiss my ***
But when your "opinion" is retarded, it doesn't matter and should not be posted.

thats one thing i always respected about the 03 cobras.....little money in mods yields huge benefits. I dont think anyone could deny that.

on the contrary, I smoke mustangs and f-bodies in a straight line, every time, and they don't dare to touch me on a mountain road

again, unless you're talking about a race from a stop (which we haven't until recently), trap speed is not a unversal "band aid" measure of performance!
