FD's are not the fastest cars on the road, they are fast, but they are beatable. Didnt he say that he ran 488 on the dyno @ 22 psi, what was he running during the race? Everyone needs to stop being so defensive.

I'm not about to read the whole thread front to back, but let me just add something if not pointed out already. If that toureg was a v10 turbo diesel and those guys knew they would beat you, I'm willing to bet they were spraying the diesel with propane (think thats the one they use on diesels). If thats the case....that thing could have been pushing damn near 900 rwtq depending on how much other crap they have done to it. Just a thought though.

People are doubting this car can be fast, nowadays, anything is possible with money. These kids obviously have money. Somebody who asks you to race for 1000 has a pretty thick wallet. An engine is an engine. German engines nowadays are top notch. You add or increase boost, add fuel, a chip or controller to tune, a fmic like he said he saw, and even an suv can haul ***.
Anyways good death and try to get a rematch or find somebody faster to run them. I wonder what cops say about those signs on their cars. I bet if you go on german sites, you will find some info on some shop/people that mod cayennes and touaregs.

There you have it tje dyno graph shows it peaks right below 900. Which must mean it was a gasoline swap... But to drop weight would be easy if the gutted the frame and replaced it with a light weight roll cage then have a full carbon fiber body. My porche friend was telling me about this guy that has a full carbon fiber porche. Essentially he would be running it like a high class gt car which is just roll cage and carbon fiber. There are places that do custom carbon fiber.

EVerybody needs to calm down there is a logical explanation for this "big foot." like argument. The picture is conclusive proof. You see the "alles... duetchland" and the german flag on the side of the car. Not all skin heads are poor double wide living degenerates. Somebody with that much money to mod a touareq might be rich enough for the carbon fiber obession. I believe your story but then again I am very guillable.

If it was a really high horsepower diesel there would be no way of mistaking it for a gasoline engine the sounds of a high horse diesel is crazy! and there is no doubt in my mind that it would produce alot of thick black smoke. I think the story is reasonable though and i beleive it.

well unless he was running race fuel he wasnt near 22 psi on pump gas. safely id say he was at 17-18 psi. so take that hp rating and that will be more accurate. and turbo diesels are nothing to laugh at. a friend of mine has an early 00 cummins and he just has a chip and 4 inch exhaust and makes over 850 rwtq. and he could of upgraded to over 1k or something just as easily.

I'm thinking the Toureg had a Porsche Cayenne turbo drivetrain swap plus some serious mods. I know it takes a lot of power to move that tank, but the lesson here is know what you're racing. The Cayenne turbo is 450 hp stock for Christ's sake!
