seeing that neither of us were there (besides AboveAll) and that we haven't even looked under the hood of this monster VW...how do you know what was in it. It could've had a built TD V10 with propane injection. On the other end, there is no proof of this story's accuracy. That lack of evidence goes with a vast majority of this particular forum. I'm more inclined to believe it. Either way, I've got nothing to lose.

 

Now you're on topic.. Believe me or don't believe me, I dyno'd at 488rwhp. Believe me or don't believe me (I prefer you don't ), I got beat by a 5,825lb Volkswagen Touareg from a 35-40mph roll. My shifts couldn't have been much better, so I'm not putting any of the blame on myself, I got my *** handed to me there is no two ways about it. I'm assuming that this Touareg was either the discontinued V10 edition with a massive turbo running insane boost + more, or it had the Gemballa 700hp Cayenne swap + some work.

If you dyno'd at 488rwhp then why dont you POST YOUR DYNO CHART.

It is very easy to do. Click on "Manage Attachments". Then click on "Browse". Find your copy of your 488rwhp dyno chart. Click the "Upload" button. Then click "submit reply".

Dont tell us that you didnt scan your dyno chart either or that you "lost" it.

 

I'd like someone to find the frontal area and cd of the Touraeg and calculate the power needed to overcome the wind resistance at those speeds.

Man everyones flaming this kid, how about you find these skin heads again and figure out what their running? i know its a long shot but its the ONLY way we'll actually know instead of just guestimating what they are running, and calling him a liar. Its not that serious guys c'mon 7 owners are supposed to be friendly and fun loving. why is a V10 turbo diesel a strange death?

ever seen a pumped diesel at the salt flats? probably not, you should do a little research.

 

I would have NO issue with the death if he could do one of the following.

1. produce a dyno chart of his car
2. produce a video
3. produce a link to any info on any of these car

Not being able ot produce any of these sets off everyones B.S. meter. 488rwhp RX-7 is a best of a car. My GT3540R RX-7 is very fast and has yet to be beaten on the highway. His car should run low 11s all day if not high 10s. For a VW SUV to take his car on the highway to the top of 4th it would have to be the fastest Tourege on Earth. I have done searches on google.com for them and have yet to find one that can do 0-100kph in under 7 seconds.

Are you kidding? Last time I checked, diesels at the salt flats arn't even close to stock form. (no interior, roll cage, fiberglass body, etc., etc.)

In street form, it's going to take some SERIOUS power to beat a 488 rwhp Rx7. So the death is probably true, but he's not making 488 rwhp. He'd need a minimum of 550+rwhp and 1400+rwtq to take down a 488 rwhp rx7. Now, if the rx7 is close to stock, then it wouldn't take near that amount of power to take it down. Also, as someone already posted, he'd have to have the fastest Touareg on earth to take down a 488rwhp rx7. Facts are facts...

Until he provides a time slip/dyno chart, i'm sticking by what i've been saying.

I'm not the one that stated anything about the Z06, but why the hell should the guy apologize?! Everything else so far as been BS, so what makes you so sure that isn't? As sad/sick as it is, alot of people say **** like that just to make the person feel bad/take it back/etc.

Just to throw my 2 cents in, if I dyno'd my car and it came out to 400+ HP, I damn sure would have a slip to prove it, just for bragging rights. I'd probably keep a copy in the glove box with the insurance and registration.

my point is it is reasonably possible but unlikely. not many people have the knowledge or money to work with diesel injection systems or do they want to.

who said it had to be 200+MPH prepared? my point is it is attainable to get 1000+HP/1400ft-lbs Tq out of the engine if modded properly.

 

I may have to follow TT Rex here. If his car which is in the 11's with a 488hp dyno. He shouldn't have to big of a problem with a Touareg (and we know what #'s it'd be putting down if it was). Why didn't he run the M3? Thats something I'de love to hear about.

If it was the V10 disel engine you'd of know it as soon as they rolled in or after the engine started up. Since the normal ones in the states are gasoline engines.... the sound of a meaty disel idle should of alerted you that something was wrong.....
